2. Objectives of the training program

2.1. General objectives

The training program is built with the philosophy: on the basic foundation of Vietnamese cultural history, on the basis of summarizing historical and practical experiences of cultural management issues combined with the application of theories and cultural management experiences of countries in the region and the world, the training program is built to bring trained products not only with capacity in cultural management but also with the ability to advise and design, build cultural management policies on the national and local levels.

From that training philosophy, the general goal of the Master's program in Cultural Management is to train and develop high-quality human resources, capable of researching, organizing, consulting, advising and implementing issues in the field of cultural management at both macro and micro levels.

2.2. Specific objectives

At the end of the Master's program in Cultural Management, students will have the following abilities:

  • Have basic and in-depth knowledge of cultural management; master theories and research methods on culture, heritage, and cultural management;
  • Have scientific and professional working methods; systematic and analytical thinking; ability to work independently and creatively; ability to communicate and work effectively in a team; integration into an international environment;
  • Have the capacity to organize and manage cultural activities; develop cultural management projects; advise and consult on culture for central and local agencies;
  • Ability to continue research and study at doctoral level.

3. Admission information

3.1. Admission form

  • Basic exam: Vietnamese cultural foundations;
  • Basic exam subject: Vietnamese History;
  • Foreign Language: 1 of the following 5 languages: English, Russian, French, German, Chinese (equivalent to level 3/6 according to the 6-level Foreign Language Competency Framework for Vietnamese people).

3.2. Admission objects

Candidates applying for the Master's program in Cultural Management must meet all of the following conditions:

  • Have a clear personal history, not currently being prosecuted for criminal liability;
  • Have a university degree in the majors listed in section 3.3 and have completed the additional knowledge program listed in section 3.4;
  • Be healthy enough to study;
  • Submit all diplomas, certificates, documents and exam fees in full, in accordance with procedures and on time as prescribed by VNU and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities;
  • About professional work experience:
  • For those with a university degree in a relevant field: no work experience required;
  • For those with a university degree in a related field: must have at least 01 year of working experience in the field of Cultural Management from the date of signing the decision recognizing university graduation to the exam date;
  • For those with a university degree in another field: must have at least 02 years of working experience in the field of Cultural Management from the date of signing the university graduation recognition decision to the exam date.
