On May 31, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in collaboration with the Thang Long Education Quality Assessment Center, organized a ceremony to announce the Decision and award the Certificate of Quality Assessment for 07 university training programs of the school.
These 7 programs include: Journalism, Public Relations, Management Science, Hotel Management, Office Management, Religious Studies and Vietnamese Studies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Director of Thang Long Education Quality Assessment Center, highly appreciated the serious spirit, "doing it for real, with real quality, not afraid of change" of the Board of Directors, lecturers, staff, students and pupils of the school during the implementation of the assessment program.
According to Dr. Phung, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities regularly approaches different sets of domestic and international standards to perfect training programs, move towards autonomy in training activities, open high-quality training majors, international joint programs, etc.
“Compared to the current rate of 17-18% of training programs nationwide that are accredited, we can see the outstanding efforts of teachers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in teaching and learning, scientific research and community service,” Dr. Phung assessed.
The Director of Thang Long Education Quality Assessment Center also said that being granted the Quality Assessment Certificate for 07 university training programs is an important milestone demonstrating the school's development, requiring the school to increasingly improve its training programs to meet society's expectations.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung believes that with a sustainable development strategy and a mission to be a pioneer in training high-quality, highly qualified human resources; researching, creating and disseminating knowledge in social sciences and humanities, serving the cause of national construction and defense and international integration, the school will achieve its strategic goals.
Specifically, by 2025, it will be in the top 150 universities in Asia, by 2035 in the top 100 universities in the continent and on par with advanced universities (in the top 500) in the world.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said that with a deep awareness of the importance of quality assurance and quality assessment, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the first institution in the Vietnam National University, Hanoi to establish an Education Quality Assurance Center since 2006.
The school is also one of the pioneers in building an internal quality assurance system, strongly implementing self-assessment and external assessment activities for training programs.
To date, 18/31 undergraduate training programs of the school have been accredited according to domestic and international standards.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, the 07 training programs receiving the Quality Accreditation Certificate represent 2 important groups of the school.
The first group is highly applicable training majors, serving the society's need for high-quality human resources, attracting a large number of students, such as Journalism, Public Relations, Management Science, Hotel Management, Office Management.
The second group is basic sciences that play an important role in the cause of building, developing and protecting the country, such as Religious Studies and Vietnam Studies.
Certificate of Quality Assessment of Training Programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU What is special is that among these training programs, there are many majors that demonstrate the leading and pioneering role of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the field of training.
“The Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language is the most traditional unit in the country in training Vietnamese language and culture for more than half a century. It is now the only unit in Vietnam to build two training programs for two separate subjects: Vietnamese and foreigners.
The Department of Religious Studies is also the first and only program (as of 2022) to train full-time bachelor's degrees," Associate Professor, Dr. Thu Huong informed.
Previously, the accreditation of these 07 training programs was implemented from December 2022, through strict and rigorous assessment steps according to the Regulations on quality assessment standards of university training programs of Circular No. 04/2016/TT-BGDDT.
