Recently, the Handover Ceremony and putting into use of the first phase of the wireless network system at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi was held on May 26, 2023.
On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, there were the participation of Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the school, Dr. Dao Minh Quan - Director of the Center for Communication and Information Technology, MSc. Nguyen Van Thuy - Head of the Administration and General Department and leaders of the school's functional departments.
On the side of VNPT Hanoi Business Center - Branch of Telecommunication Services Corporation, there were Mr. Tran Mai - Deputy Director of Business, Mr. Dao Duy Ngu - Deputy Head of Corporate Customer Business Department, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha - Technical Manager.

Wireless network coverage with the most optimal technical solution
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, said that implementing the project to upgrade the wireless network system is a great determination of the University Board of Directors to implement the policy of digital transformation in higher education. Digital transformation is becoming an inevitable trend worldwide, an important solution to help Vietnam develop quickly and sustainably. In that context, leading universities in Vietnam, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, are moving towards Digital University. The university has implemented many activities to bring convenience to the learning, research, teaching and working activities of students, lecturers and staff. Covering the wireless network on a school-wide scale is one of the activities that the university prioritizes to promote.
According to Vice Principal Lai Quoc Khanh, implementing the project to upgrade the wireless network system is a great determination of the School Board.
The project "Upgrading the wireless network system of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU" was built by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU from 2022 and officially deployed from February 2023. With the expectation of building a synchronous and highly efficient internet network, ensuring operational capacity in a high-density access environment, convenient for system administration, the school has researched and selected the most optimal technology solution from VinaPhone VNPT Hanoi Telecommunication Services Corporation (under the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group). Accordingly, the wireless network system at VNU-USSH is invested synchronously, modernly and scientifically. This system provides high-speed internet connection for users, supporting management activities, training activities, scientific research, operations and other activities.
The biggest difficulty is that the school does not have a dedicated channel infrastructure for the Wifi system. Therefore, the school's information technology team has coordinated with engineers from VNPT Hanoi to come up with the most optimal solutions. At times, the technical teams of the two units had to work until 1am to keep up with the project's progress.
Mr. Tran Mai - Deputy Director of VNPT Hanoi Business Center said that the wireless network system at VNU-USSH ensures large bandwidth for high user density.
According to Mr. Tran Mai - Deputy Director of VNPT Hanoi Business Center, after completing phase 1 of the project, the wifi system has covered the entire lecture hall area in buildings E, G, I, BC, ensuring the best transmission for the needs of a large number of users. The system is built with specialized equipment, high load capacity, all wifi equipment is centrally managed, easy to access information, usage efficiency, helping to optimize management and operation capabilities. In addition, the equipment uses modern technologies and standards, suitable for current trends and IT developments, supporting modern security standards, ensuring system safety. The system is easily expandable in the future without affecting the core network architecture, the design helps to optimize investment costs, minimize operating costs.
VNPT Hanoi will continue to accompany the school in using and managing the wireless internet system most effectively. In addition, this unit will also provide consulting support to help the University of Social Sciences and Humanities build a complete framework for digital transformation and information security management of the school.

Project acceptance activities phase 1 at lecture halls and server systems
Vice Principal Lai Quoc Khanh highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the Center for Communication and Information Technology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the coordination and active support of VNPT Hanoi during the project implementation. In the first 6 months of the project, the school will coordinate with partner VNPT to evaluate the effectiveness of the wireless network system to have the best solutions to upgrade and support users.

Bringing the best values to learning, teaching and research activities
With a pioneering position in the national education system, as well as a development orientation according to the advanced research university model in the field of social sciences and humanities, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, Hanoi, identifies digital transformation as extremely important, a strategic breakthrough in innovation in training, scientific research through the application and deployment of digital technology solutions and optimization of the management system based on digital platforms. It can be said that digital transformation activities at VNU-USSH were soon deployed and achieved certain results. In recent times, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has been a pioneer in the Vietnam National University, Hanoi in digital transformation activities with the application of software to support one-stop administrative procedure settlement for students, Job information portal, Student management and support app; is the first unit to deploy a mobile application exclusively for students to provide an interactive information channel for them in training and scientific research activities... VNU-USSH is also one of the first units to deploy digital signatures on Eoffice software to the level of Faculty/Institute/Center/Department with synchronous technology solutions, moving towards application throughout the school.
Bringing the best values to learning, teaching and research activities is the biggest goal of the project Upgrading the Wireless Network System at VNU-USSH.

User experience interface on wireless network at VNU-USSH
Upgrading the wireless network system is an effort of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to bring the best values to students, lecturers and staff in the process of studying, teaching, researching and working at VNU-USSH. From here, learners and teachers can easily access the broadband internet to exploit the data warehouse on cyberspace, deploy online teaching activities, and apply new and advanced teaching technology.
The wireless network system at VNU-USSH will create separate usage policies for each user group such as: staff, lecturers; students; partners coming to work. In particular, the school always respects personalization, ensuring confidentiality and safety for users in cyberspace.
Student Vu Thi Quynh My - Faculty of Library Information said that she and VNU-USSH students were very happy to know that the school deployed a wireless network system in all lecture halls. From here, students can easily access the internet with high transmission speed to search for learning materials and update new trends in modern science. The first-year student also said that the classes will be more exciting when students can promptly search for information to discuss during class hours right in the lecture hall.
