2. Objectives of the training program:

2.1. General objectives

The application-oriented master's program in Social Work (CSW) has the general goal of training masters in CSW with a high amount of practice time, ensuring both national and modern characteristics, and expanding and improving compared to the bachelor's level, inheriting the research-oriented master's program in CSW but focusing more on the application of CSW knowledge and skills in solving practical problems, in line with the economic, political and social realities of the country in the context of integration with the region and the world; contributing to ensuring social security, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, building a rich and strong Vietnam, a democratic, equitable and civilized society.

2.2. Specific objectives

2.2.1About knowledge: Learners are equipped with in-depth and systematic knowledge of social work theories and methods as the foundation for social intervention, and know how to apply those theories to detect and effectively intervene to solve problems in social practice.

2.2.2.About skills: Learners are trained with a high level of practical skills in many different areas of social work, know how to work with many different groups of people, have the ability to work in diverse practice contexts, and know how to coordinate with many organizations and social institutions which are important resources for social work practice.

2.2.3. About attitude:Help learners develop a responsible and ethical working attitude. Especially help learners understand and know how to appropriately apply the ethical rules of social work in the process of performing the role and tasks of a professional social worker.

2.2.4.About capacity:Trainees have the ability to solve specific social work problems in their specific field: consultation, treatment, intervention, investigation, assessment, summary, reporting. In addition, learners can participate in teaching, training, and fostering social work staff at local and other training institutions.

2.2.5.About research: Combining theoretical research and social work practice, learners can discover and solve social work problems in their specific field. At the same time, learners have the ability to design research, organize research and analyze research data.
