Current practice in Vietnam also shows that, in recent years, besides the achieved results, besides promoting the good values of beliefs and religions for the development of the country, there are still deviant phenomena in religious and belief activities such as: violations of the law on beliefs and religions; internal conflicts, struggles for power, decline in morality; religious activities that deviate from the ethical standards and traditional culture of the nation; pragmatism and commercialization in religious and belief activities; illegal activities of new and strange religions; taking advantage of religious and belief activities to illegally propagate religion, causing internal division, and opposing the regime;... These deviant behaviors not only have negative impacts on religious and belief life, causing difficulties for religious work, but are also the cause and conditions for hostile forces to take advantage of and conduct activities that cause political instability and hinder the country's socio-economic development.
On the basis of pointing out the reality of deviations in religious activities, the thesis proposes solutions and recommendations to limit the negative impacts caused by deviations in religious activities.
