The thesis analyzes the factors affecting and foreign policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam in implementing relations with the French Republic in the period 1996 - 2015. On that basis, the thesis focuses on clarifying the process of building and developing relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the French Republic in the main areas: politics - diplomacy and security - defense; economics, trade and investment; culture, education and science - technology. From there, the author gives some comments and lessons learned in leading the implementation of relations with the French Republic in the current period.
