2. Objectives of the training program:

2.1. General objectives

The research-oriented Master's program in Archival Studies equips students with a solid theoretical level in Archival Studies and methodology to enhance their research ability and thinking in this field; in addition, it improves their thinking in organizing and managing archival work, organizing and managing the implementation of archival operations, as well as their ability to teach at the university level in their specialized field.

2.2. Specific objectives

2.2.1. About knowledge: Equip students with basic and advanced knowledge groups in the following areas:

- Basic knowledge of administrative studies, document systems and history of textual studies;

- In-depth knowledge of archival science;

- Supplementary and elective knowledge blocks to meet different career requirements of learners.

2.2.2. About capacity: After completing the program, students will have the following abilities:

- Grasp the basic issues of archival studies, be able to detect theoretical and practical issues that need to be researched and solved; thereby being able to advise and provide advice on organizational measures, management and policies in the field of archival studies to leaders and managers at all levels;

- Ability to independently or organize a group or collective to conduct research and solve problems in the field of archival science.

2.2.3. About skills:

- Ability to apply scientific methods to approach and solve theoretical and practical problems in archival work and the work of ensuring and providing archival information to leaders and managers in state agencies, social organizations and enterprises;

- Ability to research and teach at administrative schools, high schools, colleges and universities in specialized fields of training.

2.2.4. About research: Equip the ability to independently research issues in the field of archival studies. Specifically as follows:

- Research new theories on archival studies;

- Researching scientific and practical foundations of document and archive work to advise the Party and State on policies and strategies suitable to current development trends;

 

- Research the impacts of changes in modern society on archival work;

- Research measures to improve the quality of archiving work in agencies, organizations and enterprises.

3. Admission information

3.1. Admission form

- Entrance exam with the following subjects:

+ Basic exam subject: Clerical work

+ Basic exam: Theory and methods of archival work

+ Foreign Language: 01 of 5 languages: English, Russian, French, German, Chinese.

3.2. Admission objects

- Bachelor's degree in Archival Studies or a related major in Archival Studies and Office Administration (for students graduating from 2015 or earlier); bachelor's degree in related majors, having completed a conversion program (list of additional knowledge courses in section 3.4);

-Work experience required: Not required.
