Linguistics is not simply learning languages. Linguistics gives you theoretical knowledge, analytical skills, and application capabilities related to human languages ​​in general and our beloved Vietnamese language in particular. That value makes linguistics close and useful to reality but also very interesting and new to explore.
As a prestigious unit and the only faculty in the country specializing in linguistics, where many leading lecturers and scientists gather, the Faculty of Linguistics has the mission of training experts in linguistics, Vietnamese linguistics, languages ​​and cultures of Vietnamese ethnic minorities for the domestic and international markets.
Since 2008, the Faculty of Linguistics has been enrolling international students. With more than half of the program taught in English and the training quality aiming at international standards, you will definitely have an advantage in choosing a career.

2. Training objectives
- General objectives:
To train graduates with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to work in the field of linguistics.
- Specific objectives:
+ Provide students with general knowledge of social sciences and humanities; basic knowledge of linguistics; languages ​​and cultures of ethnic groups in Vietnam; initial knowledge in specialized directions (Linguistics, Vietnamese linguistics for foreigners), serving research, teaching and state management of linguistics, Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture;
+Train students in basic professional skills (observation skills, analysis and synthesis skills of linguistic science issues, presentation and text editing skills, etc.), and supplementary skills (communication skills, teamwork skills, foreign language skills, information technology) necessary for professional and technical activities related to linguistics;
+ Train students to have initial ability to research, teach, manage, and consult on linguistics, language and culture; help students to continue studying at master's level in Linguistics or other related majors/specializations.
