The School Union had a successful year in many areas of activity, despite the Covid epidemic situation significantly affecting the activities of union members and departmental unions.

Currently, the School Union has 520 union members, including 13 professors, 89 associate professors, 168 doctors, and 179 masters. Regarding the development of teachers and educational management staff, the Union has closely coordinated with the government in the work of planning staff, training staff and lecturers, and gradually standardizing the School's staff. These activities are increasingly in-depth, closely following the specific requirements and tasks of the School. In 2019, 47 teachers attended training courses for main lecturers, 47 lecturers were trained in pedagogical skills and teaching methods, 123 staff improved their foreign language skills, 54 staff were trained to improve their management skills, 59 staff were trained in international publication skills, and 12 staff were trained in other professional skills. In addition, many departmental unions organized professional seminars, and many union members proactively improved their professional qualifications.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang - head of the project "Innovation of Creative Thinking and Idea Designing according to the Combined Educational Approach" won the excellent prize in the contest "Innovation of Teaching and Learning Activities according to the Combined Educational Approach" organized by the Center for Teaching Support - VNU, shared her experience.
2020 was a turbulent year due to the Covid 19 pandemic. In that context, the School Union actively and proactively promoted and disseminated documents of the Government, the Ministry of Health and relevant Ministries/Sectors on the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic, and encouraged union members to send messages to support the launch of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Comrade: Doan Thi Thai - Standing Member of the Trade Union of VNU spoke highly of the achievements of the Trade Union activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the 2019-2020 school year.
Outstanding results include: Mobilizing union members to contribute funds, medical equipment for epidemic prevention, distributing masks to epidemic prevention officers; Through the Hanoi National University Trade Union, donating 40 million VND in cash to the Covid-19 epidemic prevention fund; Allocating 45 million VND to buy gifts (equivalent to 250 gifts) to support disadvantaged students of the University who are studying online to implement social distancing in Hanoi; Organizing visits and encouraging forces performing tasks in the Covid-19 epidemic prevention quarantine area at the Center for National Defense and Security Education, Hanoi National University and donating dozens of boxes of instant noodles, fresh milk, hand sanitizer, etc.; Joining hands with the Student Support Committee of the University in difficult circumstances during the period of social distancing to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, mobilizing 135 million in cash, 300 gift bags, 3.7 tons of rice, 512 boxes of instant noodles, 7,500 eggs, 89 boxes of sausages, 1,320 masks and hundreds of boxes of various foods; Participating in packaging and distributing 2 batches of over 1,100 gifts to more than 600 students in difficult circumstances of the University in Hanoi and students of Hanoi National University at Me Tri Dormitory.

The activities of the School Union together with the School during the Covid-19 epidemic prevention period were highly appreciated by VTV media, newspapers, radio stations and public opinion, contributing to building the humanistic image of the School and Hanoi National University in general.

The School's Trade Union organized 01 training class, fostering professional skills in trade union work combined with summarizing the school year; admitted 07 new union members, the ratio of union members to the total number of employees of the unit reached 99%; 08 excellent union members were introduced to join the Party, 12 union members attended the Party sympathy class.

Regarding foreign affairs, the University Trade Union encourages and encourages the departmental trade unions to organize for union members to participate in field surveys and exchanges with other trade unions, in order to expand relationships and understanding, and motivate union members to complete their assigned tasks well; to be active and proactive in the activities of the 5 University Trade Union Cluster, contributing to building and promoting the prestige, position and operational efficiency of the 5 University Trade Union Cluster, including 2 schools under VNU.

Practically celebrating the 75th anniversary of tradition, 25th anniversary of the School's founding and Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20, the School's Trade Union launched a contestHuman Impression, to spread the good values and traditions of the School through the stages of the University of Literature - Hanoi National University - University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU. In one month of organization, the contest attracted dozens of articles, hundreds of photos and clips with more than 17 thousand comments and shares on social networks.
