II. UNIVERSITY ENROLLMENT
1. Candidates and conditions for admission
1.1. Candidates:
- High school graduates from Vietnam or have foreign diplomas recognized as equivalent.
- People with a secondary school diploma in the same field as the applied field and have completed the required amount of high school cultural knowledge as prescribed by law (hereinafter referred to as high school graduates).
1.2 General admission conditions:
- Meet the input threshold as prescribed.
- Have good health to study according to current regulations.
1.3. For each major and each admission method, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has specific regulations.
2. Description of admission method
In 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU will enroll students according to 3 admission methods:
(1) Method 1 (method code:301): Direct admission and priority admission according to current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training;
(2) Method 2 (method code: 401): Consider the valid results of the Hanoi National University's Aptitude Test (HSA);
(3) Method 3 (method code:100): Consider the results of the high school graduation exam in 2025.

2.1 Method 301: Direct admission and priority admission according to current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training
a) Hero of Labor, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, National Emulation Fighter.
b) Candidates who win first, second, and third prizes in national and international competitions for excellent students (subjects in which the prizes are awarded will be considered for admission to the majors/training programs specified inAppendix 01or national or international science and technology competitions (with project content and scientific research topics in the field of Social and Behavioral Sciences decided by the Admissions Council) organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training; the time of winning the prize must not exceed 3 years from the time of direct admission.
c) Candidates with severe disabilities have a certificate of disability issued by a competent authority as prescribed, ensuring the ability to study a number of appropriate majors as prescribed inAppendix 02and decided by the Admissions Board.
d) Candidates who are ethnic minorities with very few people according to current regulations of the Government, candidates from 20 poor border and island districts in the Southwest region or have a permanent residence of 3 years or more, studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in poor districts (boarding students of ethnic minorities are calculated based on their permanent residence) according to regulations of the Government, the Prime Minister considers admission to the prescribed majors/training programs (hereinafter referred to as ethnic minorities) inAppendix 02.
e) Candidates are foreigners whose Vietnamese knowledge and proficiency test results meet current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and VNU;
f) Candidates who are ethnic university preparatory students (DBDH) have their application documents sent by ethnic university preparatory training schools to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities according to the instructions and are considered for admission to the majors/training programs specified inAppendix 02.
2.2 Method 401: Admission based on valid HSA test results of Hanoi National University
Candidates whose HSA exam scores are still valid until the deadline for submitting registration documents on the registration portal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (valid for 02 years from the exam date).
Admission score scale: Admission is based on a 150-point scale, then converted to a 30-point scale according to the formula that will be announced later by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (candidates can refer to the Conversion Table of admission scores according to HSA to admission scores according to high school graduation exam scores in 2024, lookup link: https://vnu.edu.vn/home/; https://sfyippsu.manus.space/) and add incentive points (if any) and priority (if any) according to regulations.
Total points achieved= HSA points converted to 30 + incentive points
The highest total score achieved is 30 points.

Admission score= Total points achieved + priority points (subject, region if any)
Candidates are entitled to regional priority policies according to regulations in the year of graduating from high school (or college) and the following year. (Candidates graduating from 2023 or earlier will not be eligible for regional priority points);
Priority points for candidates with a total score of 22.5 or higher (when converted to a 10-point scale and the maximum total score of 3 subjects is 30) are determined according to the following formula:
Priority points= [(30 – Total points achieved including incentive points)/7.5] × Priority points for region and subject
2.3. Method 100: Admission based on high school graduation exam results
Candidates register for admission according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates have a foreign language certificate (specified inAppendix 03) is converted into the foreign language exam score in the registered admission group (if desired). The foreign language score conversion table is atAppendix 04attached
The international language certificate registered for conversion must be valid until the deadline for submitting the registration application on the registration portal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (valid for 02 years from the exam date). It cannot be converted to certificates with online exam format.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities uses the following admission combinations for specific majors:
Exam subjects/tests for admission groups: Total points achieved= (Subject 1 score + Subject 2 score + Subject 3 score) + incentive points.
The highest total score achieved is 30 points.

Admission score= Total points achieved + priority points (if any)
Candidates are entitled to regional priority policies according to regulations in the year of graduating from high school (or college) and the following year. (Candidates graduating from 2023 or earlier will not be eligible for regional priority points);
Priority points for candidates with a total score of 22.5 or higher (when converted to a 10-point scale and the maximum total score of 3 subjects is 30) are determined according to the following formula:

At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, during the admission process, there will be a difference in scores between admission groups. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will announce the results of the high school graduation exam and the score distribution when they are available.
3. Conversion rules for equivalent input thresholds and admission scores between combinations and methods
3.1. Input threshold conversion:
a. For method 100 and method 401:
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will announce the input quality assurance threshold for method 100 and method 401 when the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam are available, the high school graduation exam score distribution, and the conversion formula for method 401 will be announced.
b. For the DBĐH object of method 301:
- Candidates must have high school graduation exam scores that meet the 2024 input quality assurance requirements set by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the corresponding major that the candidate registers for.
- High school academic performance from Good or above.
- Average score of foreign language in high school is from 7.0 or higher.
c. For candidates who are ethnic minorities with very few people according to current regulations of the Government, candidates from 20 poor border and island districts in the Southwest region or have permanent residence for 3 years or more, studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in poor districts (boarding students of ethnic minorities are calculated based on permanent residence) according to regulations of the Government and the Prime Minister.The total score of the 3 subjects/high school graduation exam in 2025 belonging to the admission combination of the registered industry must reach the threshold to ensure input quality as for method 100.
3.2 Rules for converting equivalent admission scores between combinations and methods
The admission score of method 401 will be converted to a 30-point scale when the results and score distribution of the 2025 high school graduation exam are available. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will announce the conversion formula to a 30-point scale.

5.1. Additional conditions in admission
- Admission based on scores from top to bottom until the quota is filled.
- Admission scores are rounded to 2 decimal places.
- Admission scores are considered for each major.
- In case candidates have the same admission score, admission will be considered according to secondary criteria: priority will be given to candidates with higher priority.
5.2. Bonus points
a) Candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in national and international competitions for excellent studentsMathematics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Chinese, Japanese or national or international science and technology competitions (with project content, scientific research topics in the field of Social and Behavioral Sciences considered by the Admissions Council)Organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training; the award winning period is no more than 3 years from June 30, 2025.(no direct admission priority), candidates are awarded points (on a 30-point scale), specifically:
- First prize in national and international excellent student competitions or national and international science and technology competitions organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training: plus3.0point;
- Second prize in national and international excellent student competitions or national and international science and technology competitions organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training: will be added2.5point;
- Third prize in national and international excellent student competitions or national and international science and technology competitions organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training: added2.0point.
b) Candidates who won prizes in the High School Olympic competition of VNU, the High School Excellent Student Competition, the Excellent Student Competition at the provincial/central city levelFor subjects such as Math, Literature, History, Geography, English, Chinese, and Japanese, candidates will receive extra points (on a 30-point scale), specifically:
- First prize (High school level excellent student of VNU, High school Olympic level of VNU, Excellent student of province/city level under central authority): added together2.5point;
- Second prize (High school level excellent students of VNU, High school Olympic level of VNU, Excellent students of provinces/central cities): added together2.0point;
- Third prize (High school level excellent student of VNU, High school Olympic level of VNU, Excellent student of province/city level): added together1.5point.
University of Social Sciences and Humanities does not consider giving priority points to gifted student competitions.Continuing Education SystemProvincial/City level (organized independently from the Provincial/City level excellent student competition).
c) Candidates who have participated in the VNU 12+ ProgramBonus points (30-point scale), specifically:
Candidates can choose the learning results of 3 subjects in the university training program, announced annually by VNU, accumulated to calculate GPA to determine bonus points, with the bonus points as follows:
- Excellent GPA is added2.5point;
- GPA with excellent grade is added2.0point;
- GPA of good grade is added1.5point.
d) Candidates with results in the SAT standardized test(Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) with a score of 1100/1600 or higher. The registration code of VNU with the SAT testing organization (The College Board) is 7853-Vietnam National University-Hanoi (candidates need to declare the above registration code when registering for the SAT) to get extra points (30 points per month), specifically:
- SAT from 1500-1600 is added2.0point
- SAT from 1300-1499 is added1.5point
- SAT from 1100-1299 is added1.0point
e) Candidates with many achievements and many bonus points will only be counted once with the highest score/achievement.
5.3. Other information:
Candidates are subject toSection 2.1will be determined to be eligible for admission to the highest wish for each method (wish 1 is the highest priority wish).
a) For candidates belonging to the subjects in section 2.1 point b
- In case the number of candidates registering for direct admission to a major/training program exceeds the prescribed quota, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider admission in order of priority from high to low according to the following criteria: (1) achievements in international excellent student competitions or international science and technology competitions; (2) achievements in national excellent student competitions or national science and technology competitions; (3) average score of 03 years of high school.
* Candidates with achievements in international or national science and technology competitions must be members of participating teams decided by the Ministry of Education and Training (not teams of Departments of Education and Training approved by the Ministry of Education and Training).
b) For candidates in category 2.1, point c
- In case candidates register more than the announced quota, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider the average score of 3 years of high school from highest to lowest until the quota is full.
c) For candidates in category 2.1, point d
- In case candidates register for more than the announced quota, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider the total score of 3 subjects/high school graduation exam in 2025 according to the combination of the candidate's registered major and take from high to low until the quota is full.
d) For candidates in category 2.1, point f
- In case the number of registered students exceeds the quota for DBĐH students of each major, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider the total score of 4 subjects/high school graduation exams in 2024 of the students and take from high to low until the quota is full.
6. Admission organization
- University of Social Sciences and Humanities recruits students according to the general enrollment plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.
- For candidates under method 301: submit application to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities according to detailed announcement of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training according to the general plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.
- For candidates under method 401: submit application on the registration system of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities according to the detailed announcement of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and register admission wishes on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training according to the general plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.
- Candidates submit evidence to convert international language certificate scores or to add incentive points: submit registration application on the registration system of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities according to detailed announcement of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and register admission wishes on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training according to the general plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.
7. Priority policy
7.1 General priority policy
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities applies a general priority policy on region and subjects according to current admission regulations.
Candidates are only entitled to regional priority policies according to regulations in the year of high school graduation (intermediate level) and one following year.
7.2 Direct admission and priority admission
Candidates are considered for direct admission and priority admission as prescribed in Section 2.1 of Admission Information.

10. Other contents
10.1. About major orientation (expected)
a) Oriental Studies:The Oriental Studies training program includes three majors: Indian Studies, Thai Studies and Chinese Studies. After the first semester, the Oriental Studies Department will divide the majors for first-year Oriental Studies students based on their wishes and learning results in the first semester, giving priority to students with HSK and HSKK level 3 or higher language proficiency certificates for Chinese Studies, Thai proficiency certificates for Thai Studies, and international English certificates for Indian Studies.
b) Other training programs/majors:Divide the major orientation for students in the 4th year of study (students choose the major orientation according to their personal professional needs and the orientation of the training unit):
10.2. Training two training programs at the same time (dual degree)
- Full-time students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have the opportunity to study a second major in one of the following majors:
+ Majors of University of Social Sciences and Humanities:+ English Language Department, Korean Language Department, Japanese Language Department, Chinese Language Department of University of Foreign Languages, VNU;
+ Faculty of Law, University of Law, VNU.
+ Faculty of Literature Pedagogy (applicable to students majoring in Literature); Faculty of History Pedagogy (applicable to students majoring in History) of the University of Education, VNU
- Full-time students of schools in Hanoi National University (University of Foreign Languages, University of Law, International School, University of Education, School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, University of Economics) have the opportunity to study an additional major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as follows:- Students who complete the training programs of both majors will receive two regular bachelor's degrees.
- Conditions for dual degree registration:
+ The major of the second training program must be different from the major of the first training program;
+ Have studied at least two semesters of the first training program;
+ The average score of all subjects from the beginning of the course to the time of registration for the second training program is 2.5 or higher and meets the input quality assurance threshold of the second program in the year of enrollment or the average score of all subjects from the beginning of the course to the time of registration for the second training program is 2.0 or higher and meets the admission requirements of the second program in the year of enrollment;
+ Students have an application to study a second training program and pay tuition according to the regulations of the training unit.
10.3. Estimated tuition fees for full-time students and maximum tuition increase schedule for each year (if any)
The quality of training programs that have been inspected will be collected according to the technical and economic norms project and the tuition fee increase roadmap for the following school years will not exceed 10% compared to the previous school years.
