Also on August 20-21, 2022, the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Social Sciences (CIRSS) of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a screening assessment and initial psychological support program for students of Hope School. Hope School is a school that is nurturing and training students who have lost their parents due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic across the country under the sponsorship of FPT Corporation.
The screening assessment program organized by experts from the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Social Sciences aims to:
Participating in the program were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Hang, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thi Hong Thai, MSc. Dao Thi Hoa, MSc. Dr. Tran Van Minh. Through examination and conversation with the children, the experts made initial screening assessments of their mental health status, as well as their strengths and resilience. At the same time, they provided knowledge and ways to respond when detecting students in need of urgent psychological support. Thereby, CIRSS experts will design psychological support programs, activities and skills training for each group of students according to the proposal of Hy Vong School. In the near future, CIRSS will continue to implement support activities and emergency psychological counseling and therapy for Hy Vong School students with psychological problems.
Talking to students who were unfortunately orphaned during the Covid pandemic, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan shared their pain and great loss, and believed that with the companionship, support and care of teachers at the Hope School, and experts from the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Social Sciences, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the students will quickly overcome the pain, study well and achieve success and happiness in life. In particular, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU will award 100 full scholarships to students who will pass the entrance exam to the University within 5 years (from 2023-2028).
