Valuable scientific research of VNU-USSH is welcomed to be published in prestigious international scientific journals.

This is the content of the working session between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU (VNU-USSH) and the Journal of Vietnamese Studies (JVS) on the afternoon of July 8, 2023.

At the meeting between the two units, on behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, there was the participation of Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the school, along with leaders of functional departments, faculties/institutes and a large number of lecturers and students of VNU-USSH.
On the side of the Journal of Vietnamese Studies, there was the participation of Associate Professor Kathlene Baldanza - History and Asian Studies expert at Pennsylvania State University, USA and Associate Professor Martina Thucnhi Nguyen - History expert at Baruch College, New York, USA along with a number of members of the journal.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU hopes that the valuable scientific research of VNU-USSH will be spread more widely in the Vietnamese and international scientific research community.
Welcoming the goodwill of the Journal of Vietnamese Studies in receiving and sharing experiences to publish topics and scientific articles of researchers and lecturers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the school hopes that the valuable scientific research of VNU-USSH with the support of JVS will be spread more widely in the Vietnamese and international scientific research community.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU has the mission of taking the lead in training high-quality, highly qualified human resources; researching, creating and disseminating knowledge about Social Sciences and Humanities. Research on the historical traditions, culture, society, country and people of Vietnam; the model and path of Vietnam's specific development; the role and position of Vietnam in regional and international relations; national sovereignty and security, focusing on research on borders, islands, territorial processes, etc. are priority research directions that are the strengths of the school. Therefore, scientists of VNU-USSH have many advantages in publishing research works and articles in prestigious domestic and international journals, including the Journal of Vietnamese Studies.
 
 

At the meeting, scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU had a discussion with representatives of the Journal of Vietnamese Studies about research methods as well as necessary elements of research articles to meet the publishing criteria of JVS. According to representatives of the Journal of Vietnamese Studies, topics and articles need to emphasize new research values ​​originating from reality in the fields of history, politics, culture and society of Vietnam. By being published on JVS, topics and scientific articles will open up opportunities for exchanges with the international scientific community in the above research fields.
Representatives of JVS magazine also hope to connect with scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU in book review activities and many other in-depth research activities.

The Journal of Vietnamese Studies (JVS) is a journal published by the University of California Press. It was first launched in 2006 and is published on behalf of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at the University of California at Berkeley. The journal publishes research in the social sciences and humanities (history, politics, culture and society of Vietnam), including book reviews, communications with editors, translations of documents and Vietnamese texts. The journal's ISSN is 1559-372X.
