An individual considered to have good digital skills must be proficient and quick in using digital tools such as personal computers, smartphones, social networks and various application and software platforms in life as well as at work. In addition, they also need to have the ability to think critically to evaluate a huge amount of information and grasp the appropriate way to use the above tools. They also need to know how to maintain safe and positive interactions when participating in digital communities, aiming for balance for individuals and the whole society based on the foundation of multi-dimensional views and the ability to empathize and respect differences. Most importantly, they need to be ready to familiarize themselves with and improve digital skills, serving their lifelong learning and career development.
We currently have a young, potential population, which has many suitable conditions to focus on developing digital capacity. At this time, what needs to be done is to affirm the importance of digital capacity for leaders, managers, educators and parents, consider the impact of macro-level policies on the development of digital capacity of citizens, especially adolescents, and call for the participation of social organizations, businesses, universities and research groups. Digital capacity needs to be included in the curriculum at different levels of education, with different levels of access, and there should be regular programs to survey and assess citizens' digital capacity based on digital capacity frameworks corresponding to specific target groups.
Carrying out the national mission, as well as accompanying students in enhancing their skills to meet the increasing demands of the digital economy, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) has cooperated with Meta Group to implement the Project "Improving digital capacity for students". The project has been implemented since 2020 and has achieved many positive results. On November 10, 2022, following the success of the project, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges and Meta Group will cooperate to organize the Workshop
“Digital competence for students in the context of digital transformation of higher education”in Hanoi.

• Digital Competency MonographThe workshop provides information on the current situation and importance of digital competence for 21st century citizens. The workshop also creates an opportunity to discuss the advantages, difficulties and potential strategies to promote higher education institutions to improve digital competence for students, thereby helping education managers and policy makers to have appropriate solutions to develop digital competence for Vietnamese students. Many useful documents on digital competence will be shared during the workshop.
In addition, with the participation of managers, scientists, leading experts in the fields of digital transformation, information technology and higher education and representatives of universities and colleges, the Workshop hopes to contribute to raising public awareness of the importance of digital capacity for citizens in general and students in particular in the national digital transformation process.
Through plenary sessions and in-depth discussions, the workshop will analyze digital transformation trends and the demand for human resources equipped with digital capabilities in Vietnam. In addition, within the framework of the workshop, 03 documents on digital capacity development will be officially announced, including:
