Promote solidarity and consensus for common goals
The Party Cell of the Faculty of History always emphasizes the importance of political and ideological work for cadres and students; thoroughly disseminates the policies, resolutions and conclusions of the Party at all levels to party members; thoroughly disseminates to party members and cadres the challenges and issues arising in historical training and research activities in the new context; the necessity of opening new training majors; the trend of integration, the necessity of interconnection in training and scientific research between departments and between lecturers of different departments. Young party members are clearly aware of their roles and responsibilities in continuing the previous generations and improving the capacity for international integration. During the 2017-2020 term, the Party Cell admitted 19 party members, including 16 students.
The spirit of solidarity, consensus and high responsibility of cadres and students, first of all of the Party members in the Party Cell, is a decisive factor in the strength of the collective in building and implementing action programs and work plans of the Party Cell and the Faculty.
Outstanding and comprehensive achievements
The Party Committee has coordinated with the Board of Directors and Departments to stabilize and supplement personnel, promote the achievement of academic titles and degrees, and carry out training and scientific research tasks for party members and staff in the Faculty. During the 2017-2020 term, the Faculty added 03 lecturers; 01 staff was appointed to the title of professor, 02 staff were appointed to the title of associate professor, 05 staff defended their doctoral theses, 08 staff continued to complete the Master/PhD training program and will defend their theses in the years 2020-2021.
In 2019, the Faculty completed the task of assessing the quality of the History undergraduate training program according to the AUN - QA training program assessment standards. The work of compiling textbooks, lectures, and course outlines was promoted. The Youth Union and Association movements took place with many rich activities, supporting active learning activities and connecting union members and students. Internship and practical activities of students were implemented in many appropriate and effective forms.
The Faculty of History has always affirmed its position as one of the leading historical training and research centers in the country. The staff of the Faculty have been presiding over and participating in many scientific topics at all levels: State level (18 topics), Hanoi National University level (07 topics), University of Social Sciences and Humanities level (06 topics), topics in cooperation with localities (05 topics), topics sponsored by international funds (04 topics).
In 2018 and 2019 alone, the Faculty's staff published 218 scientific works, including books, book chapters, articles, etc. Notably, 20 works were published in foreign languages, some of which were published by prestigious international journals and publishers (with ISI/SCOPUS index).
Many staff of the Faculty have been awarded. In 2019, the National Book Award Council awarded 01 B Prize and 01 C Prize to two authors who are staff of the Faculty of History. In addition, some staff of the Faculty of History are also authors of the work "The process of formation and development of the Southern region"won the A Prize of this Award. Many research works and theses of the staff in the Faculty won awards from the Pham Than Duat History Foundation and the Dinh Xuan Lam History Foundation.
In 2018, 2019 and early 2020, the Faculty coordinated to organize 08 seminars (04 international seminars, 03 national seminars, 01 school-level seminar) and organized 16 scientific discussions. From 2017 to 2020, more than 30 staff were sent to attend international scientific seminars or training courses to improve their expertise and professionalism abroad.
Develop in a multi-industry direction, increasingly meeting the needs of society.
In order to innovate, improve quality and meet the needs of undergraduate and postgraduate training, the Party Cell has directed the development of a Master's program in Cultural Management, starting enrollment in 2019. The multidisciplinary development direction is also clearly demonstrated in the fact that the Faculty has developed a Bachelor's program in Cultural Studies, starting enrollment in 2020.
The specific tasks in the new term that the entire Party Cell of the Faculty of History is setting are to continue to innovate the leadership method of the Party Cell in the direction of strengthening democratic practice, promoting collective intelligence, building a clean and strong Party Cell; promoting the organization and development of staff; maintaining the position of the leading, high-quality History training and research center in the country and in a multidisciplinary direction, increasingly meeting the needs of society; promoting and expanding cooperation in scientific research and policy consulting with localities; actively and proactively accessing funding sources in scientific research.
