The Party Cell has strengthened its comprehensive leadership role in building the Faculty of Sociology into a strong and excellent unit, successfully implementing all assigned tasks and targets in accordance with the Resolution of the Congress of the Faculty of Sociology Party Cell for the 2017-2019 term.
In progressPlan No. 114/KH-DUOn April 27, 2016, regarding the orientation and solutions for building a research university, the Party Cell has led the promotion of the Faculty's scientific resources to carry out many scientific research topics, specifically including: 04 State-level topics underKey research program on social sciences and humanities serving socio-economic development KX.01 period 2016-2020; Program on basic issues,Urgent issues on ethnic minorities in Vietnam after more than 30 years of Renovation, proposed ethnic policies for 2021-2025 and until 2030; Science and Technology Program to respond to climate change, resource and environmental management for the period 2016-2020;02 Nafosted topics, 07 VNU-level topics, 02 grassroots-level topics, 04 other topics. The Faculty also published 61 domestic articles, 06 ISI/Scorpus articles, 10 international book chapters, 10 articles at international conferences, organized 02 scientific seminars, published 33 articles in domestic conference proceedings, published 10 reference books and monographs.
Promoting the professional and foreign language capacity of the Faculty's staff, scientific research work has been gradually internationalized, especially in organizing scientific conferences and international publications. Through these research activities, the professional and foreign language level of the staff, especially young staff, has been improved. Some lecturers of the Faculty have successfully guided theses, dissertations and doctoral dissertations in foreign languages. Thereby, the prestige and image of the entire Faculty have been raised in the international arena. This has further attracted domestic and foreign partners to exchange and cooperate in training, scientific research and providing community services. Due to the specificity of the Faculty in training two majors - Sociology and Social Work - the Party Cell has led and encouraged lecturers to conduct all three types of research including: basic research on major social issues in Vietnam; applied research to propose solutions to solve current social issues; Research on implementing interventions to support community development (French-Vietnamese joint research on building a community cultural and tourism house in Moc Chau, Son La; research on building and implementing 02Code of conduct in the workplace and public placesfor Hanoi city; research, develop and implement the project"Ward meets urban civilization standards"for Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi…).
On the basis of thoroughly grasping the leadership of the School Party Committee, the Party Cell has led the Faculty to achieve many achievements in scientific research and publication of scientific publications in Vietnamese, English and French. Thanks to the consolidation of the Faculty's scientific reputation, many cadres have received the trust of agencies and scientific funds in ordering or assigning major scientific tasks, such asBuilding a national geography setpracticeSociety. The spread of prestige in research activities and publication of scientific publications has attracted many important partners at home and abroad, notably: Department of Social Protection, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Institute of Sociology, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Institute of Sociology, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Faculty of Sociology, Academy of Journalism and Communication, Faculty of Sociology, Faculty of Social Work of Trade Union University, Vietnam Women's Academy..., Shokutoku University, Japan, Toulouse II Jean-Jaurès University, Paris Diderot University, Republic of France, Taiwan University, San Jose State University, United States... On the basis of these important cooperations, many staff have improved their capacity through participating in organizing international cooperations, participating in surveys of international research topics and projects. Thanks to that, the number of international publications of the Faculty's staff has increased every year.
To achieve the above important achievements in research and publication of scientific publications, the Party Cell has drawn important lessons in the Party's leadership, which are: building the right vision and strategic goals; building and promoting solidarity and sharing; encouraging innovative and creative thinking; adhering to the principle of fairness in development cooperation and promoting all resources, especially the internal strength of the Faculty.
