Up to now, after 25 years of establishment and development, the position of the Faculty in society is increasingly affirmed. The Faculty of Oriental Studies has successfully completed its mission and tasks initially set out, giving wings to the dreams of 28 courses (from K38 to K65) with thousands of undergraduate students, dozens of masters and doctors who have graduated, leaving their footprints on the path to success both domestically and internationally.

75 years of tradition of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - The school and the flow of time

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was formerly the Hanoi University of Letters (established under Decree No. 45 signed by President Ho Chi Minh on October 10, 1945), followed by Hanoi University of Science (established on June 5, 1956). On December 10, 1993, the Prime Minister issued Decree 97/CP establishing the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, established on the basis of the social sciences departments of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

During 75 years of construction and development, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has always been considered by the Vietnamese government as a leading center for training and research in social sciences and humanities in the country, with the mission of training a team of highly qualified basic science cadres, serving the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. That school has passed on and inspired passion, responsibility for the profession to many generations of lecturers, forever burning the flame of love for the teaching profession. And it is that flame that has lit the dreams of thousands of students so that tomorrow they will be proud of the school and the school will also be proud of them. All are encapsulated in two proud words - "Humanities"

Faculty of Oriental Studies - the "fire" that preserves the quintessence of Eastern culture.

In a small corner of that school, the Faculty of Oriental Studies has always silently followed, contributing its knowledge and efforts to the development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Compared to some other units, although it has only had a history of 25 years of formation and development, the Faculty of Oriental Studies has gradually affirmed its position, becoming an indispensable part, contributing to the common development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In 1995, along with the strong trend of internationalization and globalization, the need to learn about countries around the world, especially countries in the Asian region (Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia) is becoming increasingly urgent; the Faculty of Oriental Studies was established with the purpose of training and researching Area Studies, providing knowledge about Asian countries. At the Faculty of Oriental Studies, students are taught comprehensive knowledge including: history, culture, literature, geography, economics, politics - diplomacy... of Eastern countries. In particular, students are taught the native language as a basis for their future career. Not only focusing on expanding education levels and improving training quality and providing high-quality human resources for the country, the Faculty of Oriental Studies is also a dynamic, active unit, always proactive in establishing and developing international cooperation relations.

Up to now, after 25 years of establishment and development, the position of the Faculty in society is increasingly affirmed. Oriental Night - A traditional night only held at the Oriental Faculty is held every 2 years, gathering the extremely diverse cultural colors of Oriental countries. Each participating student will be a multi-talented artist, each country has its own style, color, and historical journey, but all blend together to create a very "Oriental" beauty. Participants will only be on one journey but will directly experience and immerse themselves in the world of music and colorful festivals of Oriental civilizations. Towards the 25th anniversary of the Oriental Faculty along with other special activities, the IX Oriental Night program with the theme "Time to Shine - Shining Moment" promises to be an impressive night.
