Talking to Hong, we found her to be a very straightforward person with a strong personality. Hong is the eldest child in a family of two children, her father is a chef at a restaurant, her mother is a housewife. Being aware of learning from a young age, in addition to learning basic knowledge in textbooks, Hong also goes to used bookstores to buy more books to read. She said that she has a cousin who studies Math at Tran Phu High School for the Gifted who is very good at studying, has won many awards in exams and is now very successful. Therefore, she took her image as an example to strive for. Hong really likes Math and she often asks her sister when she encounters difficult math problems. In the entrance exam to grade 10 at Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong, due to a bit of bad luck, she did not have enough points to enter the natural science class. But that was the opportunity for her to come to her passion for Russian later when she studied in the school's Russian specialized class. Hong said: because I studied English in primary and secondary school, I was quite confused when I first came into contact with Russian. Because Russian has some hieroglyphs and is very different from English, but the more I studied, the more interesting and attractive I found it.
Before the university entrance exam, Hong applied to six different universities. She struggled to choose between studying economics and tourism. Finally, her passion for tourism and her childhood dream of becoming an excellent tour guide made her decide to choose the Faculty of Tourism Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
During all three years of high school, she was an excellent student and passed the university entrance exam with the highest score, but the secret to studying that Hong shared was "studying and playing at the same time". In studying, she never puts pressure on herself but always keeps her mind at ease. After school, she often helps her mother with housework or goes online to relieve stress. Besides, Hong also said that she does not stay up too late to study but always gets enough sleep, so that absorbing knowledge will be easier.
Talking about her method of studying for the D subjects, Hong shared: I try to focus on listening to lectures in class and understand the lesson, draw out the main ideas to remember and know how to apply them to exercises. When I have free time, I go online to look up sample exams to practice. Through those exercises, I can supplement a lot of new knowledge and realize the missing knowledge to supplement it. Regarding foreign languages (Russian), I try to learn from the basics, grasp the ways to divide words. Because learning a foreign language is a process, Hong is very conscious of practicing hard from the beginning, trying to speak a lot to remember. For Literature, I always try to remember the main ideas, read more reference books and when doing exercises, I just need to develop according to those main contents.
From liking to travel to discover new things about life, culture, and people to the dream of becoming a tour guide, Hong said she will try to study hard. In addition to the knowledge in books, she will participate in practical activities and extracurricular activities to help herself become more confident, active, and accumulate life experience.Talking about his plans for his upcoming studies in a new environment, the new valedictorian of block D said: in addition to his existing Russian foundation, he will try to learn more English to better serve his future career.
