In recent years, economic, cultural and educational cooperation between Vietnam and Taiwan has made remarkable progress. Among Southeast Asian countries, Vietnam is one of the trusted addresses for Taiwanese investors, making Taiwan the third largest investor in Vietnam.
The number of Taiwanese enterprises investing, doing business and trading in Vietnam is increasing. The strong development of economic and trade cooperation, the similarities in culture and society, and the geographical proximity between Vietnam and Taiwan are important factors promoting the need for exchange and interaction in Taiwan of many Vietnamese students in recent years.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) - emphasized: "In the trend of integration, cooperation, peace and friendship developing strongly in both breadth and depth among countries in the East Asia region, Vietnam and Taiwan have full conditions and foundation to deepen the relationship between the two sides.

The Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities has established and expanded cooperation programs with many universities in other countries - including Taiwan - to enhance the exchange of lecturers and students, coordinate the organization of international seminars, conferences and scientific research. At the same time, the cooperative relationship between Vietnamese and Taiwanese universities has become increasingly strong and developed.

The 2016 Taiwan Higher Education Exhibition took place over 3 days (March 20-22), with the participation of 38 leading universities from Taiwan. This is a good opportunity for Vietnamese students who wish to study and work in Taiwan to learn, exchange, connect and choose suitable majors at universities.
Taiwan is known as an emerging industrial economy - an Asian dragon thanks to its policy of developing high-quality human resources, focusing on education, science and technology. This is the third time the Taiwan Higher Education Exhibition has taken place in Vietnam, and the second time it has taken place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Currently, it is estimated that there are more than 4,000 Vietnamese students studying at Taiwanese universities.
