The news that Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hai Ke had passed away after more than 10 days in the hospital shocked and saddened many teachers, colleagues, friends, and students of all generations of the Faculty of History. For nearly 2 weeks, friends, colleagues, and students took turns staying at the hospital, hoping to provide timely encouragement and strength for the Professor and his family. However, the bad developments came too quickly. The overwhelming love of everyone, the dedication of doctors and nurses, and the best medical advances could not help the Professor return to his family, friends, and colleagues.

1. In 1974, after graduating from the famous Ngo Quyen High School in Hai Phong city, the young man Nguyen Hai Ke became a student of the 15th course of the History Department of Hanoi University of Science (now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi). Unlike many people who were "forced" to enter the History Department (although they later became passionate about history and became famous historians), Nguyen Hai Ke came to history voluntarily. Majoring in Vietnamese Ancient and Medieval History, he was taught, trained, and imparted not only knowledge but also a burning passion by famous teachers of the Department. Graduating with honors, he became a lecturer of the Department and has been attached to the History Department, to the profession of making history, to the profession of being a history teacher since then. After years of his youth devoting himself to the Youth Union movement, in 1987 he was sent to the Soviet Union to study, to do his thesis for Associate Doctorate and then Doctorate.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Japan-Vietnam friendship in 2013, the Japan Foundation - Japan Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi organized a presentation entitled "Japan's New International Relations".

Prof. Vincent JH Houben (Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany) presented "Southeast Asia: History and International Relations of a Region".

Prof. Dr. Ralph Michael Wrobel (West Saxon University of Applied Sciences of Zwickau, Germany) presented on the topic "Social Market economy models and roles of the state - international experiences and implications for Vietnam".

The Ambassador will introduce the beautiful country of New Zealand. The Ambassador will present the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and New Zealand, including areas of strength and growth such as Trade and Education, as well as opportunities for studying in New Zealand. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers at the end of the talk. This is a great opportunity to learn more about New Zealand and the Ambassador of New Zealand to Vietnam.

Associate Professor Dr. Jörg Menzel (University of Bonn - Federal Republic of Germany) presented the topic "The Constitutional Reform Process in Vietnam - International Experiences on Legislative Powers".

Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities announced the plan to award master's degrees in 2013.
