Conditions for transfer to postgraduate training

Conditions for transfer to postgraduate training at Hanoi National University for bachelors in the year of graduation, quoted fromSome adjustments and supplements to the conditions for considering transfer of postgraduate training at Hanoi National University, issued under Decision No. 237/KHCN, dated July 3, 2006 of the Director of Hanoi National University.

I. Transferring master's degree students in the graduation year

1.Full-time students of VNU are considered for transfer to master's training in the year of graduation if they meet the following conditions:

- The average score of all subjects in the entire course is 7.0 or higher; the average score of Foreign Language (Foreign Language 2 for Foreign Language majors) of the entire course is 7.0 or higher or meets the Foreign Language requirements of the postgraduate entrance exam at VNU;

- The total average score of all subjects in the specialized knowledge block of the industry (including the basic knowledge block of the industry, specialized knowledge block, professional knowledge block, graduation thesis/exam) and bonus points for scientific research achievements (student scientific research awards, scientific articles) is from 8.0 or higher; no subject in the specialized knowledge block of the industry must be retaken;

- University degree major is in line with master's training major;

- Won a student research award from the school level, affiliated faculty or higher, or had an article published (full text) in a scientific journal, a collection of scientific conference works (with review) at the grassroots or national level, or had a graduation thesis with a score of 9.5 or higher.

- Have the desire and be accepted by the postgraduate training unit of VNU.

2.Full-time students of universities not affiliated with VNU are considered for transfer to master's training in the year of graduation if they meet the following conditions:

- The average score of all subjects in the entire course is 8.0 or higher; the average score of foreign language (Foreign Language 2 for Foreign Language majors) of the entire course is 8.0 or higher or meets the Foreign Language requirements of the postgraduate entrance exam at VNU;

- The total average score of all subjects in the specialized knowledge block of the industry (including the basic knowledge block of the industry, specialized knowledge block, professional knowledge block, graduation thesis/exam) and bonus points for scientific research achievements (student scientific research awards, scientific articles) is from 9.0 or higher; no subject in the specialized knowledge block of the industry must be retaken;

- University degree major is in line with master's training major;

- Won a student research award from the school level, affiliated faculty or higher, or had an article published (full text) in a scientific journal, a collection of scientific conference works (with review) at the grassroots or national level, or had a graduation thesis with a score of 10.

- Have the desire and be accepted by the postgraduate training unit of VNU;

3.Full-time students of university training institutions not affiliated with VNU but with reputation for training quality in the major they studied (specific majors and training institutions are decided by the Director of VNU) are considered for transfer to master's training in the year of graduation under the same conditions as full-time students of VNU.

II. Transferring doctoral students in the graduation year

1.Full-time students of VNU are considered for transfer to doctoral training in the year of graduation if they meet the following conditions:

- The average score of all subjects in the entire course is 8.0 or higher; the average score of Foreign Language (Foreign Language 2 for Foreign Language majors) of the entire course is 8.0 or higher or meets the Foreign Language requirements of the postgraduate entrance exam at VNU;

- The total average score of all subjects in the specialized knowledge block of the industry (including the basic knowledge block of the industry, specialized knowledge block, professional knowledge block, graduation thesis/exam) and bonus points for scientific research achievements (student scientific research awards, scientific articles) is from 9.0 or higher; no subject in the specialized knowledge block of the industry must be retaken;

- University degree major in the same field as the doctoral training;

- Won a student research award from the school level, affiliated faculty or higher, or had an article published (full text) in a scientific journal, a collection of scientific conference works (with review) at the grassroots or national level, or had a graduation thesis with a score of 10.

- Have the desire and be accepted by the postgraduate training unit of VNU;

2.Full-time students of university training institutions not affiliated with VNU but with reputation for training quality in the major/specialization they have studied (specific major/specialization and training institution are decided by the Director of VNU) are considered for transfer to doctoral training in the year of graduation under the same conditions as full-time students of VNU.
