1. Candidates for admission
1.1. Candidates who are subject to the provisions of Clauses 1 and 2, Article 8 of the current Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:- Hero of Labor, Hero of People's Armed Forces, National Emulation Fighter;
- Candidates who won first, second, or third prizes in national and international competitions for excellent students (subjects in the admission combination of the registered major/training program, see Appendix 3) or national and international science and technology competitions (with project content, scientific research topics in 2 fields: social and behavioral sciences; business and management) organized and sent to participate by the Ministry of Education and Training; the time of winning the prize is not more than 3 years from the time of direct admission.
1.2. Candidates who are subject to the provisions of Clause 4, Article 8 of the current Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:a) Candidates with severe disabilities who have a certificate of disability issued by a competent authority as prescribed, are able to study certain majors as prescribed by the training institution but are not able to apply for admission through the normal admission method.
b) Candidates who have had permanent residence for 3 years or more, studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in extremely disadvantaged communes according to regulations of the Government and Prime Minister.
1.3. Candidates who are subject to the provisions of Clause 5, Article 8 of the current Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:Candidates who won an encouragement prize in the national excellent student selection exam (subjects in the admission combination of the registered major/training program, see Appendix 3) or won a fourth prize in a national science and technology competition (with project content, scientific research topics in 2 fields: social and behavioral sciences; business and management); the time of winning the prize is not more than 3 years from the time of admission;
1.4. Candidates are foreigners whose Vietnamese knowledge and proficiency test results meet current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and VNU.
1.5. Candidates who are ethnic minority university preparatory students have their application sent to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities by ethnic minority university preparatory training schools.
2. Admission quota: Not exceeding 5% of the general quota of each major/training program.
3. Admission conditions and principles:
3.1. For candidates in the categories 1.1 and 1.3:- For the majors of Southeast Asian Studies, Oriental Studies, Korean Studies, Japanese Studies, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Hotel Management, and International: Candidates who win prizes in subjects/fields (except for foreign language prizes) must ensure that the average score of foreign language subjects in each semester in 3 years of high school is at least 7.0 or higher.
- Candidates in the category 1.3 must have high school graduation exam scores that meet the 2023 input quality assurance requirements as prescribed by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
- In case the number of candidates registering for direct admission and priority admission to a major/training program exceeds the prescribed quota, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider admission in order of priority from high to low according to the following criteria: (1) achievements in Olympic competitions or International Science and Technology Competitions; (2) achievements in national excellent student selection exams or National Science and Technology Competitions; (3) average score of 3 years of high school.
3.2. For candidates in the categories in section 1.2:For each group of candidates, if there are more candidates registering than the announced quota, the School will consider the average score of 3 years of high school from highest to lowest until the quota is full.
3.3. For candidates in the categories in section 1.4:Candidates meet the regulations on attracting and managing international students at VNU issued with Decision No. 4848/QD-VNU dated December 18, 2017 of the Director of VNU.
3.4. For candidates in the categories in section 1.5:Candidates must be on the list and have their records sent by the ethnic minority preparatory schools to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and meet the conditions according to Official Dispatch No. 1065/XHNV-DT dated April 5, 2023 of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities sent to the ethnic minority preparatory schools regarding the allocation of ethnic minority preparatory student quotas in 2023.
4. Application form

4.2 Candidates subject to item 1.4:Comply with regulations on attracting and managing international students at VNU.
4.3 Candidates in category 1.5:Follow the instructions of the ethnic university preparatory training schools.

DIRECT ADMISSION, PRIORITY ADMISSION TO REGULAR UNIVERSITY ACCORDING TO SPECIAL REGULATIONS OF HANOI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY IN 2023

1. Candidates for admission
1.1. Subjects for direct admission and priority admission:1.1.1. Direct admission subjects:
High school students of the specialized system of VNU and specialized systems/classes of specialized high schools at provincial and municipal levels, and key national high schools are considered for direct admission to university level at VNU in the field suitable for the exam subject or the content of the competition topic in which the candidate has won a prize (the prize-winning subject belongs to the admission combination of the registered major/training program or has project content, scientific research topic in 2 fields: social sciences and behavior; business and management) if they graduate from high school, have 3 years of high school conduct with Good grade and meet one of the following criteria:
- Won official prizes in regional and international science and technology exhibitions and innovation competitions;
- Won official prizes in high school Olympic exams of VNU;
- Won the official prize in the exam to select excellent high school students at VNU;
Students who meet one of the above criteria in their high school years will have their results reserved when applying for direct admission to university at VNU.
1.1.2. Priority admission subjects:
a) High school students nationwide who graduate from high school, have excellent academic performance, good conduct in 3 years of high school and meet one of the following criteria:
- Won first, second and third prizes in the high school Olympic exam of VNU;
- Be a member of the monthly contest of the program "Road to Olympia" organized annually by Vietnam Television and have an average high school GPA of 8.50 or higher (rounded to 2 decimal places);
- Won First, Second, Third prizes in the provincial/municipal excellent student competition with the winning subject belonging to the admission group or the winning subject suitable for the training major and the average high school GPA is from 8.50 or higher (rounded to 2 decimal places).
b) Non-specialized students of high schools under VNU must graduate from high school, have excellent academic performance, good conduct in 3 years of high school and meet one of the following criteria:
- Won official prizes in regional and international science and technology exhibitions and innovation competitions;
- Won the official prize in the exam to select excellent high school students at VNU;
- Have a minimum score of 90 points on the High School Student Assessment Test organized by VNU (150-point scale).
Note: Candidates with priority for admission must have high school graduation exam results in 2023 that meet the input quality assurance threshold of the industry/group of industries/training programs in the year of admission.
High school students nationwide are considered for direct admission to the basic science majors of VNU (Political Science, Sino-Nom, History, Linguistics, Anthropology, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Literature, Vietnamese Studies) suitable for the exam subjects if they graduate from high school, have good academic performance, good conduct in 3 years of high school and meet the following criteria:
- Won first, second and third prizes in the high school Olympic exam of VNU;
- Won First, Second, Third prizes in the provincial/municipal excellent student competition with the winning subject belonging to the admission group or the winning subject suitable for the training major and the average high school GPA is from 8.50 or higher (rounded to 2 decimal places).
Candidates who win prizes in high school years will have their results reserved when applying for university admission at VNU.

Admission conditions and principles:- Candidates can register for admission to a maximum of 02 wishes for the School's majors and must arrange their wishes in order of priority from high to low (wish 1 is the highest wish). In case there are many candidates with the same total score in the National High School Exam, priority will be given to candidates with higher scores in the Qualitative Thinking section.

1.1 Candidates with international certificates from the University of Cambridge Examinations Center, UK (Cambridge International Examinations A-Level, UK; hereinafter referred to as A-Level certificates):Candidates using A-Level certificates have results of 3 subjects, including Math or Literature according to the prescribed combinations of the corresponding training sector, ensuring that each subject's score is from 60/100 points or higher (equivalent to grade C, PUM range ≥60).
1.2 Candidates with SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) standardized test results of 1100/1600 or higher.The registration code of VNU with the SAT testing organization (The College Board) is 7853-Vietnam National University-Hanoi (candidates need to declare the above registration code when registering for the SAT test).
1.3 Candidates with ACT (American College Testing) standardized test results of 22/36 points.
1.4 Candidates with an IELTS English certificate of 5.5 or higher or equivalent international English certificates or other international foreign language certificates (specified in Appendix 1) and a total score of the remaining 2 subjects in the admission combination of the major/training program of at least 14 points in the 2023 high school graduation exam (including mandatory Math or Literature).
1.5. Consider the valid results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's Aptitude Test (HSA).
2. Admission criteriaNot exceeding 10% of the general target of each industry/training program.
3. Admission conditions and principles:- Candidates can register for admission to a maximum of 02 wishes for the School's majors and must arrange their wishes in order of priority from high to low (wish 1 is the highest wish). Candidates will only be admitted to the highest priority wish in the list of registered wishes.
- For students using English and international foreign language certificates: Admission will be based on the principle from high to low until the quota allocated for each major is exhausted. Admission score = English score or international foreign language certificate converted to a 10-point scale (according to regulations in Appendix 2) multiplied by coefficient 2 plus the total score of the remaining 2 subjects in the admission combination based on the results of the 2023 high school graduation exam.
- For students using international certificates A-level, SAT, ACT: Consider A-level, SAT, ACT results from high to low until the quota allocated for each major is reached.
- For students using the results of the HCM National University's competency assessment test, the minimum score must be 750/1200 points or higher. For the majors of Southeast Asian Studies, Oriental Studies, Korean Studies, Japanese Studies, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Hotel Management, and International Studies: Candidates must have an average score of foreign language in each year of 3 years of high school of at least 7.0 or higher.

1. Candidates for admissionCandidates whose 2023 high school graduation exam results meet the input quality assurance threshold according to each admission combination prescribed by VNU and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
2. Admission criteriaNot exceeding 45% of the general target of each industry/training program.
3. Admission conditions and principles:- Candidates can register for an unlimited number of wishes, schools/majors and must arrange their wishes in order of priority from highest to lowest (wish 1 is the highest wish).
- Candidates are considered equally based on exam results, regardless of the priority order of their registered wishes, but each candidate will only be admitted to the highest priority wish in the list of registered wishes.
- Admission score is determined by each combination of exams/subjects for admission. Admission score of each combination is the total score of exams/subjects on a 10-point scale (without coefficient) plus priority points for subjects and regions (if any).
- Note: In the admission method based on high school graduation exam results, for admission combinations with foreign languages, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities only uses the exam scores in the 2023 high school graduation exam, not using the results of exemption from foreign language exams according to the regulations in the Regulations on consideration and recognition of high school graduation of the Ministry of Education and Training.
