On May 25, 2011, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication held a ceremony to announce the decision to appoint the Faculty Executive Committee and the Center's Board of Directors for the 2011-2016 term.The Board of Directors of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication for the 2011-2016 term includes: Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Faculty, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen and MSc. Nguyen Son Minh - Vice Head of the Faculty. The Board of Directors of the Center for Journalism and Communication for the 2011-2016 term includes: Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Van Huong - Director of the Center, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Director of the Center.

Attending and presenting the appointment decisions, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the School - congratulated and expressed his belief that the new Board of Directors of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication with its youthfulness, creativity, dynamism, enthusiasm... will continue to promote the achievements of previous terms, bringing the Faculty of Journalism and Communication to new developments, contributing to enhancing the position and prestige of the School. In addition, the Rector also emphasized a number of key tasks that the new Board of Directors needs to focus on: - Reviewing the structure of training professions, it is necessary to soon build new majors such as Public Relations in addition to the majors of Written Journalism and Visual Journalism. - The Faculty of Journalism and Communication together with the Center for Journalism and Communication Profession coordinates to effectively implement training tasks and at the same time produce programs to meet social needs. - The Faculty of Journalism and Communication mobilizes the support of individuals, agencies, organizations... to promote and develop the position of the Faculty more strongly.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication for the new term, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong thanked the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the School and expressed gratitude to the previous Board of Directors and generations of lecturers of the Faculty. The Board of Directors of the Faculty for the term 2011 - 2016 also set out specific directions and goals such as: Building the Public Relations and Communication Management majors; Building dual degrees in Journalism - Language, Journalism - Political Science, or majors in Journalism - Foreign Language to create job opportunities for students; promoting scientific research, building topics, projects...; dividing majors in interconnectivity so that students can make the most of equipment to practice their working skills, and at the same time can accumulate 2 majors in 4.5 - 5 years of study...

As one of the four largest training and research institutions for journalism and communication in the country, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, after more than 20 years of establishment, has been providing thousands of reporters, editors, public relations staff, advertisers, event organizers, etc. with bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees for mass media agencies and political, economic, cultural and social organizations.
