Investigative Journalists – Who Are They?
Choosing to become a journalist means that reporters have to make many sacrifices. Especially for investigative journalism, reporters also have to face countless difficulties and dangers. In order to properly carry out the role of exposing prominent and complicated issues in society to the light, investigative reporters must accept to sacrifice their own happiness, joy, and peace, even putting themselves in unpredictable danger.
Investigative journalism is a sensitive and silent profession. Thanks to brave and courageous reporters who disregard danger, the public has the opportunity to know the truth about “protection at Long Bien market”, “dirty food series”, “public drug market at rehabilitation center” or “the case of summoning the dead, creditors at Ba Vang pagoda”…
Witnessing that series of reports, society is even more impressed by the efforts and dedication of the investigative reporters. Besides admiration, the public is even more curious about what the reporters did to create such a quality series of investigative articles. This is not a question of just anyone, but few people know! What dangers and difficulties did those reporters encounter, and what did they do to overcome them on the path to finding the truth and protecting justice?
