Students of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities won prizes in the National Excellent Student Competition on their first attempt.

The Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities presented flowers to students participating in the National High School Exam.

To achieve 4 national prizes out of 6 students participating in the competition, in addition to the dedicated guidance of teachers, there are also the efforts of the students to overcome themselves. Student Nguyen Ngoc Linh (Second prize in National Excellent Student Literature) confided:“In the first days when I heard that I was chosen as one of the two members representing the school to participate in the national excellent student team, I felt really happy and surprised. But at the same time, I was also pressured and worried about the preparation time. Because this was the first year the school participated in this exam, I understood that I needed to be responsible for the school's first participation.”.

Besides, when talking about the pressure of participating in the national excellent student team, Nguyen Phuong Uyen (second prize winner in the national excellent student team in Literature) shared: “Personally, I find that pressure in a big competition is inevitable, it comes from the expectations of the school, family or from the large amount of knowledge to review for the exam. But I also do not let the pressure make me stressed or afraid by creating a relaxed, comfortable mindset and reviewing effectively. Turning pressure into motivation is my secret. Not only that, every time I feel pressured, I remember the message of the Principal - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu, that consider the exam as an opportunity to grow, to win and surpass myself.”.

As an outstanding student of the History Specialized Class K1, Le Hoai Nam has proven his talent by winning second prize in the recent national history competition. Sharing about the teachers at the Social Sciences and Humanities High School, Nam confided: “Teachers play an extremely important role in the review process, always paying attention to every meal and sleep of students during the exam review process. Remembering the days of late review, eating with teachers to continue studying, reviewing for the exam helps me have more great motivation to complete the set goals. Although there are disadvantages due to my review time being quite short because this year I am only in grade 11 and have to compete with my seniors in grade 12, I always tell myself that I need to win over myself.”.
