Gen Z Social Media User Guide from Rule 901 Project
Raising students' awareness of law in cyberspace
Cyberspace is considered a miniature society - where anyone can express and share personal opinions anonymously. Taking advantage of the anonymous mode on social networks, users can perform negative actions, cause bad influences or even violate the law without having to bear any responsibility or punishment. Without enough understanding and knowledge, a part of social network users can easily be "oriented" by false, unverified information. From there, they can cause negative impacts on themselves, those around them and the social community.
Rule 901: Raising students' awareness of the law
Based on that reality, the Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Student Association of the Faculty of Law, VNU, have launched a project called "Legal Baggage - RULE 901". This is a new and unique online solution, combining many different activities, suitable for the current complicated epidemic situation. The program aims to equip and provide more necessary and useful information related to the topic of law in cyberspace and form civilized behavior on social networks for students. In particular, the handbook on using social networks for Gen Z is one of the main activities of this project.
Accompanying the smart Gen Z
To conclude the journey of RULE 901, the Organizing Committee has cherished and planned to implement a handbook called Social Media User Guide for Gen Z. Not only summarizing and summarizing the project's content, the handbook was born with the aim of equipping and providing more necessary and useful information related to the topic of law on cyberspace, helping to promote the formation of civilized behavior on social networks for students.
The handbook has 3 main parts, including contents such as: common problems encountered when using social networks, legal knowledge related to cyberspace from network security to copyright and skills needed when using social networks.
Through many forms of expression such as surveys, comparisons, illustrations..., the group of authors of the Social Network User Guide for Gen Z hopes to bring readers interesting stories, as well as useful information about cybersecurity laws, copyrights in cyberspace, and the opportunities and challenges that users face in cyberspace.
Through vibrant colors and clear, familiar drawings, this handbook will accompany Gen Z on their journey to becoming smart social media users, while helping students form good behavioral habits and attitudes on social media.
Finally, the handbook summarizes the “3N” rule to help students pocket useful advice when using social networks:
Principle: Set a rule for yourself when participating in social networks, which is to look at issues from multiple perspectives and select official information.
Source: Regardless of whether the information is true or false, Gen Z needs to learn about the source of that information, avoiding hastily believing in unverified news spreading on social networks.
Humanities: Gen Z needs to be “humane”, build a culture of civilized debate, and be active when participating in social networks. When facing controversial issues, young people need to have an objective view, respect personal opinions and have a polite attitude in cyberspace.
