The opening ceremony in the localities was attended by Dr. Mai Duc Loc (Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association), Journalist Nguyen Be (Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association); leaders of Departments, Boards, Sectors, press and media agencies; Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Dr. Le Duc Toan (Vice President of Duy Tan University), Dr. Le Van Cuong (Vice President of Binh Duong University), MSc. Nguyen Cao Dat (Vice President of Cuu Long University), Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities)... In particular, the opening ceremony gathered nearly 90 students who are leaders of press agencies, Departments, Boards, Sectors, reporters, editors, media specialists... working in the Central region, Southeast region and Mekong Delta.

The leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association and partner universities have highly appreciated the role of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in general and the Institute of Journalism and Communication in particular in actively opening training programs that are of practical significance to the need to develop high-quality human resources in the field of journalism and communication. The program has attracted the attention of many leaders of press agencies, departments, boards, sectors, journalists, members, and experts in the field of journalism and communication nationwide. The focus of the Master of Applied Journalism program is on key issues of interest to the press such as:Development trends of modern journalism, Convergence and multimedia communication, Economics of journalism and communication, Social media communication, Data journalism, Legal and ethical issues in the context of digital communication, Specialized communication profession on: politics, economics, cultural and social issues... The program provides good support for reporters, editors, and media specialists to improve their professional skills, while contributing to improving the press and media management capacity of the team of leaders and managers.

Currently, the Master of Applied Journalism program is being implemented in Hanoi, Da Nang, Binh Duong, Vinh Long and Ca Mau. In 2020, the program is expected to be held in the Northwest and Central Highlands regions... In addition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will coordinate with local universities to implement training in applied-oriented Master's programs: Master of Journalism and Communication Management, Master of Science and Technology Management, Master of Archival Studies and Master of Office Management...
