Establishing cooperation relationship with Songkla University (Thailand)

On May 13, 2014, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with a delegation from Songkla University (Thailand) led by Associate Professor Dr. Kamol Songwathana (Faculty of Management Science). Also attending the meeting were MSc. Tran Diep Thanh (Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Training) and Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Head of the Department of Science and Technology Policy and Management, Faculty of Management Science).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the development history, training scale and international relations of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.The school currently has official cooperative relations with more than 20 Thai universities such as Chukalongkon, Mahidol, Thamasat, Chiang Mai, Bangsomdejchaopraya Rajabhat, Ubon Rajathanee... Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh proposed to establish an official cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Songkla University.

Associate Professor Dr. Kamol Songwathana agreed with the proposals of Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh and said that the cooperation between the two sides will contribute to strengthening the relationship between the two schools in particular and the relationship between Vietnam and ASEAN countries in general.

Leaders of the two schools affirmed that there are many opportunities and prospects in cooperation between the two universities, especially in the fields of Management Science and Political Science.

Songkla University consists of 5 campuses in Hat Yai, Pattani, Phuket, Surat Thani and Trang with 30 faculties and over 40 research centers. The university has many fields of undergraduate and postgraduate training such as: law, economics, management science, social sciences and humanities, political science, communication studies, international studies, natural resources, pharmacy, etc.
