Summary of 2012 summer volunteer campaign

On the evening of October 4, 2012, the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities hosted the Closing Ceremony of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and honored the "5 Good Students of VNU" of the 2011-2012 school year.Attending the event were Prof. Nguyen Hoa, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of VNU; Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu, Vice President of the Trade Union of VNU; Comrade Tran Anh Tuan, member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, member of the Central Secretariat of the Union, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi City Student Association. On the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu - Vice President of the University. Summarizing the summer campaign 2011 - 2012, Comrade Nguyen Hai Minh - Secretary of the Youth Union of VNU emphasized that to achieve today's results, it is the efforts and endeavors of more than 1,600 young volunteers who have devoted themselves, overcome difficulties, hardships, worries, thoughts and creativity to build houses, classrooms full of laughter for children, works of high value and scientific initiatives applied in the practical life of people in disadvantaged areas. This is the third year that the Youth Union - Student Association of VNU has organized the evaluation and commendation of 5-good students. Last school year, VNU had 100 excellent students who overcame extremely difficult criteria in terms of study, ethics, health, skills and integration to achieve this noble title. Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Tran Anh Tuan acknowledged and praised the excellent results that the Youth Union of VNU achieved in the past school year, and affirmed that this year's summer campaign of VNU volunteer students achieved 4 criteria: practicality, professionalism, efficiency and safety. The Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union commended the 5-good students, and emphasized that the 5-good student movement is aimed at helping students improve during their studies and when they graduate, meet the needs of society and integration. VNU has always been the leading unit and the unit that organizes the most scientific, methodical and effective scientific programs nationwide. Comrade Tran Anh Tuan advised: VNU students to strive to study, practice ethics, and actively participate in volunteer activities to build the VNU brand. At the ceremony, Comrade Tran Anh Tuan awarded the Flag of Comprehensive Excellence in Youth Union Work and Youth Movement in the 2011-2012 school year, the Flag of Leading Emulation in Association Work and Student Movement in the 2011-2012 school year to the Youth Union and VNU Student Association. The City Youth Union also awarded certificates of merit to the VNU-level Volunteer Team in Soc Son District and the Volunteer Team for Propagating the Culture and History of Thang Long - Hanoi of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The VNU-HCMC Youth Union awarded 19 groups and 48 individuals of the volunteer teams who had excellent achievements in the 2012 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, including 4 groups and 7 individuals of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
