University of Social Sciences and Humanities won first prize in the 2018 VNU Trade Union Singing Contest

With the theme “Vietnamese Soul”, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities brought to the competition 03 performances: “Oh Vietnam” (Bui Quang Minh), “Lullaby of Au Lac” (Le Minh Son), “Love song” (Pham Duy). The University’s team had the participation of more than 100 people from 21 trade union units with the support of students from Vovinam, Cheer Rumbo and Sol Dance Clubs.

The School’s performances are considered to be of outstanding quality with elaborate investment in both performance, costumes and main ideas throughout the performances. If “Lullaby of Au Lac” conveys a message about a soul that knows how to cherish its roots when returning to the story with the legendary colors of “Con rong chau Tien”, “Tinh ca” is full of love for the country, for the culture, and the ups and downs of history over two thousand years. “Viet Nam oi” expresses pride in the country with a bright spirit and full of youthful energy.

In addition to the first prize for the whole group, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities also won first prize for the group singing with the song "Oh Vietnam".

The art performance was organized by the VNU Trade Union to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day, aiming to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Government's promulgation of the VNU Decree and 112 years of tradition. The performance featured nearly 80 performances from 25 member units under VNU. The performances were diverse in genres, from singing, dancing to solo performances.
