University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a cooperation agreement with Fudan University (China)

On January 21, 2019, at VNU, under the witness of VNU Vice President Nguyen Hoang Hai, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and Ms. Jiao Yang (Party Secretary, President of the Council of Fudan University) signed the main cooperation document between the two universities.

At the meeting, VNU Vice President Nguyen Hoang Hai said that the training scale of Fudan University and VNU have many similarities and the role of Fudan University for China is similar to the role of VNU for Vietnam. In 2019, Vietnam and China restarted scientific and educational cooperation projects under the Protocol, with the support of the two governments, Vice President Nguyen Hoang Hai hopes to have practical and specific cooperation links between the two universities in science and training.

Principal Pham Quang Minh said: The school and Fudan University have had many academic exchanges. Up to now, many staff and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have participated in programs organized by Fudan University. The professor highly appreciated these programs because they created useful exchange opportunities for students and lecturers of the school. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a long-standing and prestigious training institution in the social sciences and humanities, especially with the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Center for Chinese Studies with the function of in-depth research on Chinese language and culture.

Ms. Jiao Yang (Party Committee Secretary, President of the Council of Fudan University) said: Fudan University is a long-standing university, conducting multidisciplinary research in the fields of Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering and Biomedicine. With the mission assigned by the Chinese Government, Fudan University has made great efforts to build and develop not only to become one of the leading universities in China but also among the leading universities in the world. With a development orientation towards research, currently, Fudan University has about 14,000 and 20,000 graduate students. Fudan University aims to attract 5,000 outstanding scientists from other countries to research and train.
