Congratulatory letter from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Government's promulgation of the Decree on VNU and 117 years of tradition

Dear teachers, staff and students,
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Government's Decree on Hanoi National University and 117 years of tradition, I would like to send my sincere feelings and best wishes to the Board of Directors, teachers, staff, civil servants, students of Hanoi National University through all periods.
Inheriting and continuing 117 years of tradition from Indochina University (1906), Vietnam University (1945) and Hanoi University (1956), after 30 years of striving to build and develop, Hanoi National University has constantly strived and achieved many outstanding achievements, becoming a large multidisciplinary university training and scientific research center, holding a particularly important leading position in the country, highly appreciated and ranked internationally, playing a core and leading role in the Vietnamese higher education system.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Party and State leaders and with personal feelings, I would like to acknowledge, congratulate, commend and thank Hanoi National University for the results achieved in recent years, especially since moving its headquarters to the new urban area in Hoa Lac.
As we know, Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW of the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to build and promote the role of intellectuals to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable national development in the new period has set out the task of focusing on building breakthrough mechanisms and policies and investing resources to develop higher education institutions to an advanced level, in which Vietnam National University, Hanoi is ranked in the top 500 universities in the world by 2030. Therefore, I believe and hope that the collective of teachers and students of Vietnam National University, Hanoi will promote their intelligence, enthusiasm, passion and creativity to successfully complete the above goals.
Wishing Hanoi National University to continue to maintain its leading position in the country, gradually rise on the map of leading universities in Asia and the world; soon successfully build the Hanoi National University Urban Area in Hoa Lac, smart, modern, sustainable, on par with the region.
