Based on the collection, systematization, addition of new documents, and scientific processing of sources, the thesis has the following contributions:

- Exploiting a fairly rich, diverse and reliable amount of documents on the Party's policies, guidelines and implementation process in organizing the construction and protection of the Northern rear from 1965 to 1972.

- The reference sources and appendices of the thesis can contribute to the study of a number of issues related to or related to building and promoting the strength and role of the Northern rear in the period 1965 - 1972.

- Describe and reconstruct relatively fully and objectively the historical picture of the Party's leadership in building, protecting and promoting the strength of the Northern rear from 1965 to 1972.

- Contribute to clarifying the planning circumstances, successes, and limitations of the policies, guidelines, solutions, and measures of the Vietnam Workers' Party in the process of building, protecting, and promoting the strength of the Northern rear against the Southern front and the Indochina battlefield.

- Initially, provide scientifically-based assessments and comments on the achievements and limitations in the process of the Party's leadership in building and promoting the strength of the Northern rear; from there, draw some key experiences to serve the cause of building and defending the Socialist Fatherland today.

13.Further research directions:

Research on the two anti-CTPH campaigns in the North during the resistance war against the US, saving the country (1965 - 1972) in general, on the process of the VLD leading the army and people to win the two CTPH campaigns in particular, has many issues whose content and aspects are difficult to convey simultaneously and fully within the framework of a thesis. Along with the time lag, historical documents are always revealed, new research perspectives continue to be updated, new research requirements appear from the demands of practice... That opens up great opportunities, realistic possibilities and sets requirements and responsibilities for researchers, including the author of the thesis. From the viewpoint, the thesis is only the beginning of the research path, the PhD student plans the research direction and upcoming research content as follows:

- Building and defending seas and islands; fighting sieges and blockades during the resistance war against the US to save the country (1954-1975);

- Promoting internal strength in combination with taking advantage of external strength; at the same time, maintaining independence, autonomy and national sovereignty in the resistance war against the US to save the country (1954-1975);

- The relationship between peace and war; the issue of border protection, territorial sovereignty, and territorial waters placed in the context of developments and movements of the current world and regional situation;

- Solving the relationship between the nation and the international community, between construction and protection; between the government and the people... in the current national development.

Together with temporal reversal, historic documentations are always revealed, new perspectives of study updated, new requirements for study emerging from reality, etc. It opens great opportunities and actual capabilities and imposes demands and responsibilities for the research circle of which is the author of the thesis. On the viewpoint, the thesis is just a start of the research path, the postgraduate expects prospective research directions and content as follows:

- Waters and islands construction and defense; anti-blockade and anti-surrounding in the Anti-American Resistance War and National Salvation (1954-1975);
