10. Summary of project results:
Patients with kidney disease may experience mental health problems such as anxiety, sleep disorders due to the decline in physical health, work, family life and social life. This clinical study was conducted to explore the effectiveness of CBT in psychological intervention for patients with kidney disease. The study participant was a male client, diagnosed with left kidney atrophy. The client was clinically evaluated, and the results showed symptoms of panic attacks and illness anxiety. After the evaluation period, the client was treated with CBT with two phases of inpatient and outpatient treatment, including 14 outpatient intervention sessions. The results after the end of the intervention showed that the client had reduced symptoms of panic attacks and reduced symptoms of illness anxiety.
11. Practical application:The study provides empirical evidence that CBT is effective in reducing symptoms of panic attacks and anxiety about the illness. Techniques such as exposure and cognitive restructuring are appropriate to apply in this case.
12. Further research directions:
From the case presented in the project, the author proposes studies on the mental health status of patients with kidney disease on a larger sample group and develops a working process at medical facilities to limit risk factors that damage patients' mental health.
