- The thesis is a systematic and in-depth research on printed newspapers for ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Vietnam today. Research on newspapers for ethnic minority and mountainous areas is a research on newspapers for specialized subjects.
- The thesis provides scientific arguments, contributing to supplementing and developing the Party's theoretical system on printed newspapers for ethnic minority and mountainous areas; on leadership and management of newspapers for specialized subjects to serve development and sustainable development.
- The thesis has systematized the concepts, theoretical and practical bases related to the topic. From there, it supplements and develops the theory of journalism for ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Vietnam, approaching from development communication.
- The thesis has surveyed and evaluated the current status, quality and effectiveness of printed newspapers for ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Vietnam; pointed out the successes and limitations, the causes of successes and limitations.

- The thesis will propose to the Party and the State (especially the press management and direction agencies such as the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists Association) scientific arguments to plan a number of policies to strengthen the activities of free print newspapers to serve the sustainable development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in particular, and the sustainable development of Vietnam in general.
- The research results of the Thesis help local leaders, agencies, departments and functional branches in ethnic minority and mountainous areas to better understand the role of the media, especially print media channels, methods, mechanisms, content and forms of free print media for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas, in order to change the behavior and awareness of recipients.
