NCKHSV should not only approach in a movement direction.

Student scientific research activities have been an important annual activity of the School for many years. Through these activities, students have the opportunity to accumulate experience, learn scientific thinking methods, ways to detect and solve problems, methods of writing scientific reports or teamwork skills...

In the 2020-2021 school year, the whole school had 1,002/7,611 students participating in scientific research activities; carrying out 589 research topics. Many units have outstanding achievements in student research activities such as: the Faculty of Oriental Studies has the largest number of students participating in scientific research, accounting for 22% of the faculty's students; the Faculty of Psychology has an average of 20% of students participating in scientific research, for 3 consecutive years, students have participated in the final round of the national student research competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training... The school has been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training for 4 consecutive years as a unit with outstanding achievements in student research activities.

Sharing with teachers and students about the school's expectations for student research activities, Vice Principal Dao Thanh Truong said: The school wishes to continue to widely spread the spirit of scientific research among social science and humanities students in the following school years. Not only do many students from different faculties participate in this activity according to each field and specialized topic, but there should also be more student research conferences by topic, according to interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research directions attracting students from many courses and faculties to participate. Student research should not only be approached as a movement but also need to promote the research and publication capacity of students based on a sharing platform, with the emergence of young research groups and potential research groups.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong also believes that student research needs to adapt and connect with the trends and directions of the University's scientific research such as: innovation, interdisciplinary research, applied research, start-up activities, international integration in science. "The starting point of scientific research today can be the career opportunities of students in the future. Students need to be further supported by teachers and the University in terms of guidance/sharing of experiences in scientific research, research funding support, information support and research databases... If viewed from the perspective that students are also a potential source of young research human resources, student research may need more changes in resource support policies, forms of organization, finding funding sources/scholarships specifically for research" - Vice Principal Dao Thanh Truong emphasized.

The NCKHSV Conference is divided into 4 sub-committees according to the following topics: Issues of Psychology, Ethnicity and Society; Issues of Politics, Tourism and Journalism; Issues of Information, Administration and Management Science; Issues of Philosophy, Religion, Language and Literature.

At the end of the conference, the School awarded certificates of merit to 196 students who were the authors of 113 student research projects; 25 student research projects won first prize, 38 student research projects won second prize, 49 student research projects won third prize. The School's Youth Union awarded the Green Torch Prize to 07 outstanding research projects on topics related to students and youth.
