Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities: Internationalizing quality and supporting training and scientific research

Recognizing the important contributions of scientists to the development of the Journal
Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities(VNU Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU JOSSH) was established on August 31, 2015, with international standard code ISSN: 2354-1172. Up to now, the Journal has been included by the State Council of Professors in the list of journals that are scored for works in 08 Councils of Professors of various disciplines and interdisciplinary fields.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Conference of Collaborators of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Party Secretary, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, assessed that over the past 10 years, the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities has made important contributions to the scientific research activities of the school in particular as well as in the field of social sciences and humanities in general. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan expressed gratitude to scientists from VNU-USSH and domestic and international research and training units who have made many contributions to the development of the Journal. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan hopes that scientists will continue to accompany to internationalize the journal, bringing JOSSH to the regional and international level. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang - Former Vice President of Hanoi National University, Chairman of the Science and Training Council of Hanoi National University, Chairman of the Interdisciplinary Professorship Council of History - Archeology - Ethnology said that the Scientific Journal is the scientific face of a research unit, and the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities has fulfilled its mission well in contributing to the development of scientific research activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular and in the field of social sciences and humanities in general. Accordingly, VNU JOSSH has scientific quality that is well evaluated by experts, the process of receiving articles, editing, communicating with authors... is close to international standards, in particular, the Journal has had positive influences in the scientific research community. 10-year journey accompanying research activities of lecturers and students
Looking back on the development journey and highlights of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities over the past 10 years, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Editor-in-Chief of the Journal said that many domestic and international scientists, especially Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Associate Prof. Dr. Vu Van Quan... have made important contributions to the development of the Journal. In 2019, the Journal joined the Vietnam Journalists Association as a branch of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
Since 2016, the Journal has published 04 Vietnamese issues and 02 English issues/year, each issue has a maximum capacity of 200 pages and 500 copies/issue are distributed (from April 2016, 400 copies/issue are distributed), each issue has a maximum capacity of 200 pages. Each year, the Journal also publishes 02-03 special issues. The Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities has actively supported scientific research and training activities of staff and postgraduate students such as supporting the publication of quality articles according to the commitment of scientific topics; timely selection and introduction of presentations and articles at scientific conferences; publishing articles of postgraduate students meeting scientific requirements. The quality of articles, printing quality, and presentation of the Journal is increasingly improved, the work of introducing and promoting the Journal domestically and internationally is highly valued. Information about articles is updated in many domestic and international scientific database systems.
In the new phase, the Journal continues to maintain and improve its quality, gradually developing to become a prestigious international journal. Towards this goal, the Journal plans to carry out many key tasks, especially expanding the network of domestic and foreign scientists participating in writing and reviewing articles for the Journal. The Journal is also urgently completing procedures and upgrading the website and management software so that the process of submitting articles, receiving articles, reviewing articles, and publishing is carried out online according to the standards of prestigious journals in the world.
At the Conference, many valuable opinions from prestigious scientists in the field of social sciences and humanities were shared, with the expectation that VNU-JOSSH Journal will not only be a prestigious scientific publication domestically but also approach international criteria.
Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang emphasized that the Journal needs to increase the quantity and improve the quality of international research articles, increase the participation of foreign scientists... on the basis of state regulations and rules, creating investment conditions for the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities to reach the world level.
