Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan, former Director of VNU, was recognized as Professor of Earth Sciences in 1996, Distinguished Teacher in 2008; has held many leadership and management positions of member universities of VNU since 1996 and has held the position of Director of VNU since October 2007; Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU since September 2011. Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan has made many contributions in proposing innovative policies and breakthrough solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of all activities, achieving the goal of developing VNU gradually to international standards. |

He was a research professor and visiting lecturer at prestigious universities in the world such as: Moscow State University; Mechanical Engineering Research Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences (Russian Federation); Japan Advanced Institute of Sciences and Technology (JAIST - Japan); University of Birmingham (United Kingdom), Sejong University (Korea). He proposed and opened the major of Advanced Materials and Structures of Mechanical Engineering; founded the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology - Transport, University of Technology); Developed the project and opened the major of Infrastructure Engineering, Vietnam - Japan University; Opened the major of Automation and Informatics, International School, VNU. He has persistently and persistently contributed positively and effectively to promote the field of Engineering of VNU to be ranked 386th in the world rankings, training many talented young PhDs in this field at VNU and for other universities across the country. For 4 consecutive years, in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc was ranked in the top 10,000 scientists with the most influential citation index in the world by the US journal PLoS Biology and ranked 94th in the world in the field of Engineering in 2022. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh, Principal of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU. He graduated from university with a degree in General Surgery in 1984; Master's degree, Resident Doctor in 1987; PhD in 2001 at Hanoi Medical University. He was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal in 2013, recognized as Professor of Medicine in 2015, and awarded the title of People's Physician in 2017. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh has held leadership and management positions such as: Head of the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Viet Duc Hospital; President of the Vietnam Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons; Member of the Executive Committee of the Asian Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons; Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Journal of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Vice President of the Council of Life Science and Technology - one of the professional councils of VNU, Director of E Hospital and Director of the Cardiovascular Center of the Hospital... Recently, Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh received the First Class Labor Medal for his great contributions in the field of health care.
