Embassy of Italy: Promoting cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU and the University of Bologna

On March 19, 2024, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan had a meeting and worked with Prof. Dr. Macro Abbiati - Counselor for Science and Technology, Embassy of Italy in Hanoi and Prof. Patrizia Dogliani - representative of the University of Bologna on research cooperation, lecturer and student exchange.

Also attending the meeting were representatives of the Department of Cooperation and Development, the Department of International Studies and the Department of History of the School.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU expressed his desire to cooperate with the University of Bologna in many aspects. In particular, student and lecturer exchange is a content that both sides are particularly interested in. With its position as a pioneering training and research institution in the field of social sciences and humanities, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with 27 Bachelor's training programs, 36 Master's training programs, 30 Doctoral training programs, ensures that students have many choices with international standard training programs.
Accordingly, international students studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities are not only guaranteed the quality of teaching, but also receive special support in terms of accommodation and medical services. When coming to Vietnam, international students will have the opportunity to experience cuisine, culture, and scenic spots, and create a bridge to enrich the already close relationship between the two countries of Vietnam and Italy.

Prof. Patrizia Dogliani - representative of the University of Bologna hopes that the two sides will have joint publications and research in the future.
Prof. Patrizia Dogliani shared some information about the University of Bologna: As one of the oldest universities in Europe, history is one of the University's particular strengths, and history training programs are taught in many different disciplines. Realizing the common points in training programs and research directions between the two academic institutions, Prof. Patrizia Dogliani hopes that in the near future, the two sides can exchange lecturers and organize seminars on archaeology as well as modern history of Vietnam and Italy.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Thuy - Deputy Head of the History Department shared: History at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is one of the oldest training majors in Vietnam.
Sharing about the cooperation opportunities between the two schools, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Thuy said: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities always pays special attention to lecturers from partner universities and research institutes. Currently, the History Department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the "second home" of many lecturers from many countries around the world and the teaching programs of the visiting lecturers receive attention and positive feedback from the school's students.
Hopefully in the future, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will soon welcome many lecturers from the University of Bologna to come to lecture and conduct research, building an increasingly strong relationship between the two schools.
