According to the agreement, VNU and Seoul National University (SNU) will cooperate in the fields of research, lecturer and student exchange. The two universities will carry out many in-depth cooperation activities in areas such as semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence technology, promoting the development of Vietnamese studies in Korea, developing talents through the exchange program of excellent students and young scientists, etc.
The presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Han Duck Soo demonstrates the deep interest and support of the two Governments, contributing to promoting cooperation between VNU and Seoul National University in the fields of education and research. The cooperation between VNU and Seoul National University is expected by the leaders of the two Governments to help train high-quality human resources to meet the development needs of both countries.
In the coming time, Seoul National University will join VNU to promote the cooperation model with enterprises. The establishment of joint research centers between VNU and Seoul National University with Vietnamese and Korean enterprises will be emphasized. The two universities will make specific plans to realize cooperation commitments in the field of training high-quality human resources and cooperation in research and transfer of new technologies. At the same time, student and lecturer exchange programs will be enhanced, in order to create international study and research opportunities for students and lecturers of both sides.

As the leader in the Vietnamese higher education system, VNU was the first public training institution to open a major in Korean language and Korean studies in 1993, right after the two countries established diplomatic relations. Currently, the faculty and experts of VNU are also actively participating in projects to popularize and develop training and research on Korean language and culture in the Vietnamese education system. In recent years, VNU has had many cooperations in training and scientific research with leading universities in Korea such as Seoul National University, high-tech corporations such as Samsung, LG, Hyundai, SK, etc.
Previously, on June 22, 2023, President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife visited VNU and interacted with Korean language students during the President's official visit to Vietnam from June 22 to 24, 2023. President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol commented that VNU has similarities with Seoul National University and both are important higher education institutions in training talents for the country and it is certain that VNU will soon complete the construction of facilities and campuses at the new campus in Hoa Lac to be worthy of the position of Vietnam's leading university.
