On that basis, at the meeting with Mr. Ruici Tio on March 9, 2022, Vice President Pham Bao Son said that VNU is a multidisciplinary, multi-field university education center with training programs that are highly interconnected and linked, therefore, he expressed hope that the Project can be expanded to many units in VNU through the LMS system currently in use at VNU. The Faculty of Information and Library, University of Social Sciences and Humanities can digitize these courses and upload them to the shared system at VNU.
VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son proposed expanding the project to the entire VNU.
Policy Program Manager – Asia Pacific Region of Meta Ruici Tio Company expressed his excitement about the idea proposed by Deputy Director Pham Bao Son, and also actively discussed the methods that the two sides can implement to expand the scale of the project in the coming time, on the basis of effectively implementing the Project on Improving Digital Capacity for Students that Meta is coordinating with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Senior Advisor of the Project, suggested that both sides could use Meta Company's Facebook platform to educate young people about their attitudes and behaviors in the digital space. This is a hot issue today that VNU can take the lead in solving.
Previously, on January 16, 2022, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the final round of the contest "#MESSAGE4DIGIGEN - MESSAGE FOR THE DIGITAL GENERATION" with the participation of 170 teams and more than 400 contestants from 31 universities and high schools across the country. Before 2021, Vietnam did not have a separate digital competency framework for each specific subject. But in fact, there have been 3 digital competency frameworks developed by international businesses/organizations and applied domestically, namely: International Computer Drivers License (ICDL), Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³) and Microsoft Digital Literacy Standard Curriculum. Facebook's Digital Mindset Program is providing short-term courses to develop digital competencies for high school students. The DKAP project has also conducted initial research on assessing ICT competencies of Vietnamese high school students. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities aims to build a digital competency framework that inherits the results of competency frameworks and programs and projects that have been implemented in the world, on the basis of comparing the two competency frameworks of the European Commission, UNESCO and CAUL, and at the same time referring to Facebook's approach in We Think Digital courses, applying the content of the Introduction to Information Competency module currently being taught by the Faculty of Information - Library, and based on research on assessing digital competency of USSH students. The project is expected to include the following stages: -Phase 1:Integrate some modules of the digital competency framework into the Information Competency course (currently taught to the whole school) -Phase 2: 2021 o Developing the Advanced Digital Competency course for students majoring in Information Management o Developing a Handbook on Digital Competency for Students o Organize workshops on digital capabilities o Build digital humanities clubs and digital humanities competitions nationwide. -Phase 3: 2022 o Integrate digital competencies into USSH training programs o Continue to propose cooperation with Facebook to develop a set of assessment criteria for digital competencies for students. -Phase 4:From 2022 o Proposing the development and use of the NLS Framework in Vietnam National University, Hanoi. o Seek opportunities to expand to universities nationwide. |
