Attending the discussion were many professors, scientists, and veteran teachers of the School through the periods such as Prof. Phan Huy Le, Prof. Vu Duong Ninh, Prof. Dinh Van Duc, Assoc. Prof. Le Mau Han...
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the tradition and the 20th anniversary of the establishment, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the University directly directed the compilation and publication of a book introducing the history of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The book outlines the process of building and developing the University through 4 stages: The period of the University of Literature (1945-1956); The formation and growth of the social sciences and humanities in the Hanoi National University (1956-1975); The mature development of the social sciences and humanities (in the years 1976-1995) at the Hanoi National University; Building and developing the Dean of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the structure of the VNU (1995-2015). The book also devotes a chapter to summarizing the tradition, presenting experiences and developing the Dean in the coming years.
The book is expected to not only recreate the glorious 70-year history of the University, associated with the ups and downs of the history of the revolution and the Vietnamese people through typical milestones and events, but also summarize the core values and fine traditions of a leading university in basic sciences. The lessons learned from the book are not only meaningful in summarizing the past stages of construction and development, but also contribute to suggesting solutions to turn the University into an advanced research university in the region and internationally in the coming period.
At the discussion, the teachers unanimously supported the above policy, affirming the necessity of compiling a book on the history of the School's development on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its tradition. The outline of the book was assessed as being tight, logical, elaborate, and containing many valuable documents. In addition, the delegates also suggested that it is necessary to revise and supplement more events and details to more clearly and accurately reflect the history of the School's development through each period, in close connection and association with the history of the development of the country's educational science after the 1945 revolution.
