In 2005, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was the first unit in VNU and one of the first 20 universities in Vietnam to participate in assessment and was recognized as a national standard university.
Continuing that activity, on November 23, 2015, the External Assessment Team of the Center for Educational Quality Assessment, VNU-HCM City conducted a preliminary survey at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-Hanoi to begin implementing the program of assessing the quality of education at the basic level according to the quality assessment standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, represented the School's Board of Directors to welcome and have a direct working session with the delegation.
After the preliminary survey, on December 1, 2015, the External Evaluation Team led by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia had its first official working session in room 501, building E.
Here, the inspection team evaluated the supporting documents.
After evaluating the evidence, the delegation deployed working groups to directly inspect and evaluate departments, faculties, etc. of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.
The delegation is conducting a survey at the Korean Studies specialized archive, Faculty of Oriental Studies.

On December 2, 2015, the opening session of the program to assess the quality of educational institutions according to the quality assessment standards of the Ministry of Education and Training took place in room 506, building E.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia, Head of the evaluation team, highlighted the role and position of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU: "This is an evaluation of a strong unit with a long-standing tradition in all aspects."
After the opening session, the delegation continued to carry out assessment work.
The program is expected to end on December 4, 2015.
