This year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has 5 candidates with entrance exam scores of 25.5 points for block C and 1 candidate with entrance exam scores of 26.5 points for block D. These are all excellent representatives of the new students of the QH-2012-X course.
1. Vu Thi Cam Tu (Faculty of Journalism and Communication) - valedictorian of block D

Studying in the Chinese Specialized Class at Tran Phu High School (Hai Phong), Vu Thi Cam Tu had excellent academic performance throughout her 3 years of high school and faced many opportunities to choose from in the university entrance exam. Although in her class, 20/37 students chose Foreign Trade, Cam Tu found her own path when she decided to take the entrance exam to the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Tu shared: “I chose the Faculty of Journalism and Communication because I know that the Faculty trains a very broad and solid foundation of knowledge for journalism, on that basis I have the opportunity to choose a wider career. I want to work as a journalist in the future to travel a lot, make many contacts, explore life in many depths and breadths, thereby expanding my knowledge and awareness of life and society”. She also loves participating in activities of the Youth Union, Student Association, social activities, especially volunteer activities, and hopes that through her career she will help society sympathize and care more about unfortunate lives. The saying that Cam Tu loves: "Nothing is impossible".
2. Nguyen Cao Yen Binh (Faculty of Linguistics)

Studying in the History class at Chu Van An High School (Hanoi), Yen Binh has loved History since childhood, because according to her, history tells fascinating stories of the past and leaves behind life lessons worth pondering. She won First Prize in History at the city level, and Third Prize in History at the Ba Dinh-Tay Ho Olympic in 11th grade. Yen Binh chose the University of Social Sciences and Humanities because she admired the stature and long tradition of a leading university in Social Sciences and Humanities in the country. She hopes that studying Linguistics will help her have the opportunity to learn and research more deeply about the language, culture, and history of the nation. Binh plans to take the exam to study the University's international standard Linguistics program, improve her foreign language skills, and seek scholarship opportunities at home and abroad. Yen Binh hopes to teach subjects related to Language and Culture in the future.
3. Pham Thi Trang (Faculty of Journalism and Communication)

Pham Thi Trang studied in the Literature class at Quang Trung High School (Hai Phong) and was an excellent student in Literature for many years. Admitting that she is an introvert and a bit shy, Trang chose journalism because she wanted to change herself, to become a more active and confident person. Trang hopes that with journalism, she will have the opportunity to experience more life, and do many meaningful things for people and society. Passing the university entrance exam with a high score is a gift that Trang first wants to give to her mother, because her mother is the closest person and the one who encourages her the most in life. Trang believes that going to university will be a very important turning point in her life. University is an environment that helps students to be independent, to know how to orient their future life more clearly as well as learn to integrate more in a large collective environment. Trang especially loves a quote in the Diary of the heroine Dang Thuy Tram: "Life must go through storms but must not bow before the storms", and you believe that difficulties and obstacles are sometimes necessary so that when we overcome them, we will become more mature and stronger.
4. Bui Phuong Thao (Faculty of International Studies)

Bui Phuong Thao studied at Bai Chay High School (Quang Ninh) and has good academic performance in Literature and History. Thao won the Provincial Encouragement Prize in History in grade 11 and the Provincial Third Prize in Literature in grade 12. She believes that to study well, one must have a love and passion for the subject, along with having to diligently study and remember the knowledge learned. Phuong Thao likes International Studies with the desire to travel to many countries and learn about countries around the world. She also admires people working in the field of Diplomacy, because they are people who rely on their talent, dynamism, acumen and ingenuity in foreign affairs activities to bring benefits to the country. Phuong Thao shared that she was very impressed with the new university environment - a famous university, multidisciplinary training, with a team of good and experienced teachers. Students also have many playgrounds and clubs to play and study... Phuong Thao likes to collect many proverbs and one of her favorites is: "Dreams are not something that is available but are not something that cannot be had".
5. Tran Thi Huyen (Faculty of Oriental Studies)

Tran Thi Huyen studied in the Literature class of Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted and has many achievements in Literature competitions for excellent students: First prize at the provincial level in Literature in grade 10, Silver medal in Literature at the Hung Vuong summer camp competition in the Northern midland and mountainous provinces in 2010, Third prize at the provincial level in Literature in grade 11, Encouragement prize for surpassing a level (a grade 11 student but participating in the exam of grade 12 students) at the provincial level in Literature in grade 12. Huyen likes to learn foreign languages, especially likes to learn about the cultures of Asian countries. She wants to study Japanese Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies because she is attracted by the values and unique features of this culture. Huyen said: "Japanese people have many valuable qualities that we need to learn, such as self-respect, discipline, perseverance in overcoming difficulties. Their culture is also very diverse, colorful, very delicate and unique, not mixed with any other ethnic group". Huyen believes that the time at university will be a valuable opportunity to study, be independent and experience many life experiences. She will try to study well and actively participate in class work and Youth Union and Association activities. Huyen always believes that: "In life there is no dead end, only boundaries, the important thing is to have the strength to cross those boundaries".
6. Nguyen Thi Chau Loan (Faculty of Oriental Studies)

Nguyen Thi Chau Loan majored in Literature at Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted. Chau Loan said she really likes journalism, especially radio journalism, and wants to become a radio announcer. Therefore, before submitting her university application, she planned to take the entrance exam to the School of Journalism. However, the Oriental Studies Department - University of Social Sciences and Humanities was Loan's final choice. She explained: "I have learned about the Oriental Studies program and found it particularly interesting. I also like to travel to many places, explore the cultures of many lands, especially Eastern cultures. When I go to university, I will try to study well to study abroad and become a good interpreter." Loan added: "However, I will not give up my passion for journalism and will consider it as a part-time job in the future, if possible. Moreover, studying Humanities, after graduation, I can still work as a journalist!" One particularly interesting thing that surprised many people about this friend: the C-block subjects are not the subjects that Chau Loan is best at, nor are they the subjects that Loan loves the most. Loan revealed that her strength and the subject that she "likes" the most is Chemistry. Her overall Chemistry score at school is always at the top of the class with an extremely high overall score of 9.8. However, to fulfill her dream, she still decided to take the Literature exam and study the C-block. In grade 11, Loan won the third prize in the provincial Literature competition and always maintained the top position in the class in terms of academic results.
