In the 2012-2013 school year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has achieved comprehensive results in many aspects of its activities. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector of the University) summarized the outstanding achievements and announced the important orientations of the University in the coming school year.

More than 1,000 students from over 30 provinces and cities across the country will officially become bachelors of science that day. On this occasion, we would like to introduce the portraits of 34 bachelors who graduated with honors and distinction with the highest scores by province.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khang (Institute of Linguistics) analyzed and affirmed the scientific contributions of Prof. Nguyen Thien Giap in linguistic research through a group of works that were recently awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology in 2010: "Vietnamese Vocabulary" (1985) "Vietnamese Words and Word Recognition" (1996).

On the occasion of the late Professor Tran Quoc Vuong being posthumously awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize by the State on February 18, 2012, USSH respectfully introduces an article by Professor Phan Huy Le about the man and his research on Hanoi. The article is also an introduction to the book On the sacred land of a thousand years of cultural relics - a selection of articles on the culture of Thang Long - Hanoi by Professor Tran Quoc Vuong, Hanoi Publishing House, 2010.

Among the 12 Ho Chi Minh Awards and 20 State Awards for Science and Technology this time, the Faculty of History has two awards: one Ho Chi Minh Award for the cluster of works on Vietnamese culture by the late Professor, Meritorious Artist Tran Quoc Vuong, one State Award for the work “Thang Long - Hanoi in the 17th - 18th - 19th centuries” by Associate Professor, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thua Hy. This is the 5th Ho Chi Minh Award and the 4th State Award that the staff of the Faculty of History has been honored to receive from the State.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Loi (Vietnam Institute of Lexicography and Encyclopedia) affirmed and summarized the scientific values, practical values ​​and scientific impacts ofVietnamese Phoneticsbelong toProf. Dr. Doan Thien ThuatThis is the project awarded the State Prize in 2010.
