The Institute of Journalism and Communication (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi) and Sputnik International News Agency - Russia organized an online lecture with the topic: "Journalism amid the COVID-19 pandemic: topics, mistakes, fake news, fact checking".
The lecture aims to clarify the requirements of a successful press report, and discuss the qualities that a reporter and journalist need to equip when writing a press report. Issues discussed:
- The role of the press in the fight against the global COVID 19 pandemic.
- Activities of the Russian, Vietnamese and world press during the pandemic, linked to topics and experiences in journalism.
- The problem of fake news and the ability to verify information.
- Experience of Sputnik and international and Vietnamese journalists in this activity.
The lecture was attended by speaker Oleg Dmitriev (professor of the National Academy of Communications, senior advisor of Sputnik), Journalist Tran Thu Ha - VTV4 Foreign Television Department, Mr. Vu Manh Cuong - Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health.

Oleg Dmitriev has worked for several media outlets in the United States and was a correspondent for CNN's World Report from 1992 to 2001. He was head of the training department for journalists at RT, editor-in-chief of the news service, and then global director of broadcasting at the English-language Voice of Russia (now Sputnik). He is the author of numerous research articles and monographs on new media.
SputnikPro is a project of the international news agency and radio station Sputnik for journalists, journalism students, press officers and other media professionals aimed at sharing experience with foreign colleagues, as well as developing media and journalistic connections.
During the project, representatives of more than 80 countries participated in the project. SputnikPro workshops were held in Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Greece, Georgia, India, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Estonia and South Ossetia. |
