More than 120 students out of over 700 registered students participated in the course to improve their English communication skills. The English communication skills course was directly instructed and taught by two lecturers who are volunteers from Denmark under the International Volunteer Program coordinated by CSDS. The teaching content is based on the curriculum compiled by CSDS, including topics related to common communication situations. In addition to the opportunity to practice English communication with international volunteers, students also have the opportunity to practice and accumulate many other useful soft skills through teaching activities in many creative and attractive forms.
The class organizing committee, led by the Student Affairs and Student Affairs Department, received positive feedback from both students and teachers. Teaching through games, communication situations, and the youthfulness and friendliness of the two young lecturers eliminated the students' initial concerns. This was also the first time that students were directly involved in organizing the class and could contribute constructive ideas and adjust the lecture content to suit their abilities and needs for personal development. The volunteers also expressed their first good impressions of the enthusiastic welcome and effective organizational support from the School.
On April 6, 2018, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Principal of the School) had a reception with the representative of CSDS, Mr. Don Tuan Phuong - Director and founder of CSDS VN. The leaders of both sides were pleased to acknowledge the results and highly appreciated the efforts of the Organizing Committee of the course in realizing the cooperation exchange contents initiated in November 2017. The School representative also affirmed the desire to continue long-term and deeper cooperation with CSDS VN, especially in supporting learners and improving their English communication skills. It is expected that after the end of this course, CSDS will continue to support the School in organizing other courses. Activities of coordinating receptions, selecting volunteers to participate in international programs, considering scholarships for students in difficult circumstances, etc. will also be gradually researched and implemented.
