Attending the scholarship awarding ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, there was Mr. Bui Van Linh (Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs). On behalf of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, there was Ms. Lee Mi Yeon (Minister and Consul General, Deputy Ambassador of Korea in Vietnam). On behalf of Lotte Group and Lotte Scholarship Fund, there were Mr. Lee Jung Wook (Vice President of Lotte Scholarship Fund); Mr. Lim Sung Bok (General Director of Lotte Hanoi Hotel); Mr. Kim Jong Min (Deputy General Director of Lotte Coralis Vietnam Co., Ltd.); Mr. Eom Sun Woong (General Director of Lotte Department Store Center); Mr. Lee Jun Kyu (Financial Director of Lotte Department Store). On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Rector of the University); Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of Political and Student Affairs Department).
The 21st Lotte Scholarship was awarded to 78 students from 8 universities in Hanoi, including six students majoring in Oriental Studies at the University. The students who received the scholarship this time have made efforts to overcome difficult family circumstances to achieve excellent academic and training achievements.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lim Sung Bok hoped that this would be the motivation to help students realize their ambitions in life, and did not forget to send a message to the students: "If you set a clear goal for yourself, always determined to follow the path you have chosen with a passionate and foolish heart, you will surely achieve your goal. I will always support you."
The Lotte Scholarship Awarding Ceremony, which is held twice a year, is a symbol of the good friendship between Korea and Vietnam, demonstrating Lotte Group's desire to contribute to community activities and social responsibility. At the same time, the group's leaders also hope that today's excellent graduates will be the next generation of Lotte Group's member companies in the near future.
The Lotte Foundation was established in 1983 and is awarded to students from poor families who have overcome difficulties to achieve high results in their studies and research. In 2008, the Lotte Foundation came to Vietnam and through meaningful scholarships, the Foundation has become a trusted companion for students of elite universities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In the future, the Lotte Group promises to pay more attention and invest in the country's young talents.
