Attending the meeting were Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Principal of the school, MSc. Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong welcomed the delegation on their first visit to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as their first visit to Vietnam. Vice President Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training of the university, as well as the university's support for not only undergraduate training, but also master's and doctoral training. Every year, the university organizes many short-term courses, and the university receives hundreds of international students to study at the university. She expressed her hope that this visit will be the beginning of cooperation, exchange and improvement of teaching quality between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Cardiff University.
On behalf of Cardiff University, Prof. Kenneth Hamilton expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the school. He also shared some information about Cardiff University: Ranked #166 globally in the QR World University Rankings 2023 and in the top 24 research universities in the UK, this is the main research campus of Wales, with more than 33,000 students and the school is particularly strong in the Social Sciences aspect with majors such as Journalism, Psychology, Languages, Philosophy - a common point with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The school also trains groups of Natural majors such as Biology, Pharmacy. The school's facilities are fully equipped, with invested equipment only available in Cardiff and Harvard.
The delegation representatives also shared that Cardiff University has many relationships with many universities in China, Brazil, Belgium, Malaysia and Singapore. Prof. Kenneth Hamilton wanted to learn more about the exchange programs available at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, especially Project 89. He also expressed his desire to design a joint program, and was ready to provide online courses if needed. Through the joint programs, the university hopes to promote the exchange of staff and students, thereby strengthening close connections with the government, creating many opportunities for cooperation with different majors.
