On May 31, 2013, the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the Mid-term Party Conference, the 26th Congress. Attending were the School Board of Directors, Party Cells, Heads of Units, Chairman of the Trade Union, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairman of the School Student Association.
The conference listened to and discussed the following reports: Report on the evaluation of the Party Committee's leadership results with the School in the first half of the 26th Party Congress; Self-assessment of the Party Committee's leadership and implementation of the 26th Party Congress resolution; and Report on a number of issues related to Party affairs.
The comrades in the Party Committee all agreed with the content of the reports presented at the conference, and also contributed and discussed more clearly many issues surrounding the results of activities in the past half term.
At the end of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of the University emphasized the important political tasks of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the coming time, which are:
- Focus on building the University of Social Sciences and Humanities into a research university, fulfilling its mission of training high-quality human resources, training talents for the country, and making the University a leading institution in creating knowledge resources for society.
- Focus on building and developing a team of leaders and managers, a team of resource cadres for the Party cell, the School, VNU and the country; standardizing the teaching staff, attracting high-quality human resources.
- Enhance the comprehensive leadership role of the Party cell with the unit, of the Party Committee with the School;
- Innovate the working methods of Party cells and Party Committees; organize specialized conferences in each unit on topics such as training of successor cadres, unit development orientation... Each Party cell and each Party member must have a plan to successfully complete the targets set by the 26th Party Congress.
