The History Faculty team won first prize in the contest "Following the course of history: Spring Victory"

On April 26, 2018, SEG Club (the event organization club under the Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) organized the final round of the contest “Following the course of history: Spring Victory”. The contest had the presence of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Principal of the University).

The final round had the participation of 4 teams that had successfully passed the qualifying round: Faculty of History, Department of Religious Studies, Faculty of Literature and Faculty of Oriental Studies. The 4 teams participated in the following competitions: warm-up, obstacle course, relay and speech.

Warm-up: Teams choose one of four question packs and nominate a member to answer.

Overcoming obstacles: The team chooses a puzzle piece corresponding to a question, each correct answer will reveal the puzzle piece. The teams have the right to ring the bell to answer the content of the theme image hidden behind the puzzle pieces.

Relay: Teams send cheerleaders to play the game, the winning order is equivalent to the score of that team when answering the questions correctly given by the program.

Rhetoric: Each team will send a representative to draw a presentation topic. Each team representative will present the drawn topic for 3 minutes, then answer direct questions from the judges.

At the end of the competition, the History Faculty team won the overall victory.

The “Following History” contest was first held in 2009, organized by the History Faculty Youth Union. In the following years, the contest expanded to the whole school and was held annually to create a playground for students who love History. This year, the contest was hosted by the History Faculty Youth Union - Association from mid-April 2018. The Youth Union of each faculty and department sent their teams to participate in the qualifying round of taking multiple-choice tests, the 4 teams with the highest scores entered the final round.

The contest was held on the occasion of the 87th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, welcoming the 43rd anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. This is a meaningful and useful activity for students as a highly professional playground, bearing the mark of Humanities students, thereby contributing to fostering patriotism, national pride and pride in tradition of young people.
